Y/n hummed as he stood up. Before he took a step, he felt a tug on his cloak. He paused and turned to see Daisy.

"I apologize, but I have to go now. My...friends... need me. I recommend that you hide under some of the debris to avoid being attacked by a savage demon." He smiled.

"Huh? Where are your friends? There's so much chaos around and getting to your friends will take a long time! It's dangerous!" Daisy worriedly said.

She kept a tight grip on his cloak, not wanting him to leave. She wants the brunette to stay with her because his presence is weirdly calming and can distract her fear from all the chaos.

"It'll be fine. After all, I'm the gift that she brought. I'm supposed to do this." Y/n replied, turning away.

"I know you'll be okay too. And...your brother, Ustinez...he loved you very much." Y/n spared her a glance as he started walking away.

"Ustinez...You met big bro Ustinez...?" Daisy muttered as tears fell down her face.

"Yeah. You're all he spoke about when the two of us finally got a chance to speak without any worries. He really missed you and he doesn't regret sacrificing himself to have saved you. So, don't let his sacrifice be in vain. Do not die." Y/n said.

~Flashback~

Y/n and Ustinez sat on the shelter's roof after getting away from Yuugo who chased them, knowing they stole his cookies. They told each other jokes and laughed at the different pranks they pulled on Yuugo.

"Hey, Y/n." Ustinez sighed with a smile.

"Hm?"

"I have a younger sister. Parents too." Ustinez began.

Y/n paused before looking at the demon with a raised brow, signaling him to continue.

"But, I haven't seen them in years. The last time I remember being with them...my sister was picking flowers in our garden while my parents were preparing to celebrate her birthday. I was folding the laundry when I suddenly heard my sister scream. I quickly ran to find her, only to see that some of the Royal guards were there, my sister in their grasp." Ustinez said, slightly lowering his head.

"When I asked them the purpose for their arrival, they told me that they were taking my sister as compensation for my parents' debt. Apparently, they had borrowed money from them for food, but haven't paid it back. My sister only cried, full of pure fright and confusion because she didn't understand what was going on, but she could sense it wasn't good. As for me, I couldn't stand the idea of letting them take her while I turned a blind eye, so I offered myself in exchange for her to continue living. Reluctantly, they accepted and I was taken instead."

Y/n was silent and kept a blank expression as he continued listening.

"My sister didn't want to let me leave, but I had to make her leave or they'd take the both of us. So, I told her to run back home and to not look back or...I'd hate her. That was a lie, of course. I can't hate her. She's the most precious thing to me. Anyway, she ran home with tears in her eye and didn't dare cast a glance back because she didn't wish for me to hate her. Once I was taken by the guards, I was thrown into the forest where I eventually became a wild demon. I was like that for years before I met you. So, thank you. If you weren't here, I would never have returned to this form and my memory of my sister would be forever lost." Ustinez smiled.

"Hm...What's your sister's name?" Y/n asked, chewing on a cookie.

"Daisy. And she's just about the sweetest girl you'd ever meet! My favorite feature about her is the strands of air that stand up on her head. It reminds me of a daisy flower." Ustinez proudly huffed.
