James Potter and the Prisoners of Time

Chapter 39

"Oomph." Alice groaned as she bumped into a group of frantic teenagers, "Hey are you guys okay?" she asked.

"Not really considering the you know, Death Eaters." Scarlet said, her eyes scanning the crowd around them.

"We need to get them out of here now, the Death Eaters saw us and now they're definitely pissed." James said gripping onto Albus and Lily tight.

"Where are the others?" Scarlet asked.

"Delphi went to help Alpha squad and Damien is at Silver Cross with the rest of the kids. He sent me out here to find-"

"There you guys are!" Fred said as he and Teddy ran up to them.

"We've gotta go, the Death Eaters aren't anywhere in the crowds. My guess is they've gone back to the Royal Academy building." Teddy said.

"We've got to get to them and obliviate them!" Alice said is a frantic voice. They had to make sure none of the Death Eaters knew they're identities.

"But there's one problem," Fred continued, "The DA is headed there right now and that's where Alpha squad is." 

"Meaning?" Alice asked.

"Meaning we have to get them out of there. They could get caught by the DA." James said.

"That is, unless they don't get caught by Death Eaters." Scarlet said grimly.

"So what to we do?" Everyone turned to look at James. He was practically their official leader now anyway. She could practically see the gears turning in his head as he tried to formulate a plan. Her heart was thumping almost as loudly as the crowds around her. Her brother was there, her other half was practically tramped and his only choice was to get caught by either the DA or the Death Eaters. 

"Alright. Fred take Albus, Scorpius, Rose and Lily to Silver Cross and apparate to Grimmauld Place with Damien. Stay there until Scarlet get's back and places the wards." James said.

"Shouldn't she just come with us and place the wards one time?" Fred asked.

"No I need her here, there's strength in numbers. Alice, Teddy, Scarlet and I are going to get the other's and escape to Grimmauld Place."

"Wait," Lily said, "How can you all apparate, there's a big group of us." 

"We've got other means of transportation." Scarlet said and tossed something from her pocket to Fred. The portkey.

"Is that a...?" Rose trailed off.

"Is that a portkey?" Scorpius finished.

"How'd you guys get ahold of one?" Albus asked his brother.

"No time to explain." Scarlet said and gently nudged Scorpius and Rose towards Fred, "What's important right now is that we all get out of here alive." 

"Albus and Lily," James said to his siblings, "Please be safe." 

"We will." Albus replied.

"Alright now go." James said again. Fred took Lily's hand and started running off with the Silver trio right behind them.

"Okay. Here's the plan, Alpha squad has most likely splitted up so we'll have to do the same. Alice and Teddy look for Frank, Diana and Victoire. Scarlet, you and I are going to find Delphi before someone else does." James said, he grabbed Scarlet by the wrist and ran to the right side of the Royal Academy building while she ran to the left with Teddy. 

Alice didn't want to say anything but she had a strong feeling that James wanted Scarlet there so he could ensure her safety by being at his side. She also didn't want to admit to herself that she was a little too worried at the thought of Diana being trapped by Death Eaters. She was a muggleborn so Merlin knows what'd happen to her if she were caught.
