I never liked mornings.

They were always the same.

I'd open my eyes, breathing in the winters air that had snuck through my slightly ajar window whilst i slept.

Everything seemed fine in the world for the few first moments of being awake.

Those few moments were one of the things i cherished most in life.

I had no worries.

I had no grief.

I had nothing but an empty canvas in my mind.

Only to be filled with paint as everything starts flooding back.

The war

My father

Mooney

Bellatrix

Depression

Hurt

Confusion

Harry

It never happened in any particular order, the memories and pain just kind of came naturally.

The process was fast, taking only seconds for me to be reminded of the scars i took with me in life.

But a very particular thing that lingered in my mind from yesterday, was those first moments of being awake.

Only they weren't just moments, they lasted much longer.

Waking up in Freds arms seemed to bring me a certain peace i couldn't find anywhere else.

No matter how hard i looked and searched, his skin on mine seemed to be the only cure to my problems.

He was my safe place.

I previously had many.

My home, Hogwarts, my father, lupin . . . the list went on.

But when everything was destroyed, those places held nothing but pain.

Even though Fred and i had been broken up at the time of the war, he remained the person i could trust with more than my life, and to this day still is.

My love for him was timeless.

And now that he was back in my life in more than a friend way, my heart, soul and body ached to be with his.

I was now making my way through the busy halls of the ministry, Ron had accompanied me as i hadn't been here in a rather long time and was surely bound to get lost if i were without someone.

'Right, his office is just through there, I've got to meet my supervisor now so do you think you've got this?' he asks as we came to a halt just outside a door, engraved with 'minister of magic' on.

'Yeah, thanks again for this' i smile, hugging the taller boy once more.

'No problem' he replies, rubbing my shoulder before turning around and walking back towards the lift.

I took a deep breath, facing the door and bringing my hand up to knock the wooden surface.

'Enter' a deep voice replied.

I turned the handle, stepping into the well lit room and for the first time taking in the majestically furnished area.

'Well if it isn't minipad' Kinglseys familiar voice spoke from the end of the room.
