"Call me when you get there. And you're sure you're okay going?" My mom asks once she kisses my cheek. "Yes, I'll be fine. I need to go. Love you." I tell her and walk out the front door with 2 bags in my hands.

"Hey babe. You ready?" Leah greets me once she gets out of her car to help me with my bags. "Yep." I say and she puts them in the back. I sit in the front with Leah, while Sof is in the back.

Sofia sleeps on the way to the airport since it's really early. Once we get to the airport, we board the plane and Sofia is full of energy. Me and Leah are just trying to relax, but Sofia wants us to talk to her. So I hand her my phone and let her watch something on Netflix.

I look beside me and Leah is asleep, so I take advantage of Sofia being distracted, and I go to sleep too.

Eventually the pilot comes on the intercom, saying we've landed. So we all get off the plane and find our luggage's. Leah rents a car and we head to the hotel we're staying in. I'm pretty sure Sofia stayed up the whole plane ride, so she's passed out in the car now.

"There's a lot of palm trees.." I observe, looking out the window. "Well. Welcome to California." Leah says and I giggle. "Thankyou again for coming." Leah says, keeping her eyes on the road.

"Stop thanking me all the timeee." I giggle and so does she. "I'm sorry! I just really appreciate you." She says and I smile. "Well I appreciate you for taking me to LA." I say and she laughs.

"So how much are you gonna be working while we're here. Am I not gonna see you at all?" I ask. "No you'll see me, don't worry." She glances at me. "I mainly just have to work in the mornings." She says and I nod.

"I don't know how you do it." I shake my head. "Well it's just what happens when you grow up." She shrugs. " You'll be doing the same thing as me one day." She says and I furrow my brows. "I'm not looking forward to that." I say and she giggles.

"Don't worry about it. You'll be okay." She says and smiles at me. "You're sweet." I say and lean my head back. We talk until we get to the nice hotel, and I carry Sofia inside while she's still asleep.

I open the door to our room for Leah since she had the bags, and we walk in. "Oh wow..." I say since it's really nice. "There's only 2 beds, so I figured me and Sof could sleep together and you can have the bed in the other room." She says since there's 2 rooms.

"You sure you don't want a bed to yourself?" I ask. "No it's okay. Sofia slept with me since she was 6, I can handle it." She says and we giggle. I lay Sofia down on the bed they're sleeping in, then I go in the other room and bring my stuff in there.

"I'm gonna take a shower." Leah peaks her head in my room. "Okay." I say. "Sofia's probably gonna be out for the rest of the night." She tells me. "Alright." I nod and she leaves, shutting the door a little.

I pull out my school stuff and open my laptop, continuing an essay I need to finish. I work on it for about 40 minutes, then I take a little break and go to check my email. I've been checking it everyday since my last exam, waiting to see how I did.

I see an email from my psychology teacher about my exam, and my heart starts to beat faster. I click on it and slowly read, unintentionally avoiding seeing the grade I got.

A wave of relief comes over my body once I read the '91'. "Jeez, I knew I did kind of good, but not that good." I say to myself. I'm so happy I don't have to worry about that exam anymore. I basically aced it and I couldn't be prouder.

I get back to my essay until I hear a light knock on the door. I turn my head as Leah walks in. "Hey." She smiles and sits on the edge of the bed. "Hi." I say sweetly. "Schoolwork?" She asks and glances at my laptop. "Yep. Guess what." I say. "What?" She asks.

"I got an A on my last exam." I say proudly. "Really? That's great baby." She smiles big. "I'm proud of you." She tilts her head. "Thanks Leah." I smile.

I notice her dressed in different clothes and her makeup is done. "I thought you took a shower?" I ask. "I did." She says. "Well why are you dressed?" I giggle. "I wanted to know if you wanna come down to the lobby with me?" She asks.

"Sure." I shrug since it's really nice down there, with drinks, music and games. I close my laptop and put my shoes back on. We go down to the first floor and sit at the bar.

"Water please." I tell the barista. She gives me a glass of water and I take a sip. We talk for a good 20 minutes.

"So do you work tomorrow morning?" I ask Leah. "No I start the day after tomorrow. So we can go out and do stuff if you want." She says. "Whatever you wanna do." I shrug. "It's your trip." I tilt my head.

"Yeah well I'm not gonna make you do anything you don't want to." She says and I rest my chin on my palm. "I'll do whatever you want me to do.." I say softly. She raises one brow and smiles a little. "Yeah?" She asks and I nod my head 'yes'.

"Ok then. I want you to tell me a secret." She says. "A secret?" I ask and she nods. "Yeah." She shrugs. "Mmmmm, like what?" I say, trying to think. "Anything." She tilts her head.

I press my lips and look up, trying to think of something. "Ok.." I sigh and look at her. She raises one brow, waiting for me to say something. "Well..I like this person..." I start to say. "Ouuu." She teases.

"But it could never work." I tilt my head. "Why not?" She asks, intrigued. "Well...they have other things going on in their life, and I'm not mature enough for the type of relationship they're looking for..." I explain and she listens.

"If they're even looking for one." I tilt my head. She tilts her head too, copying me. Then she puts her hand on mine. "Well even if they weren't looking for a relationship, I'm sure they'd want one once they met you.." She says which makes my heart flutter.

"You think so?" I ask softly. "Mhm." She nods and squeezes my hand before letting go. "You're perfect. Who wouldn't want you?" She asks and stands up. "Let's go back." She says and starts to walk back.

I stay there, frozen for a second, taking in her words. Then I snap out of it, and follow behind her.
