I've been on the plane for almost 2 hours, and I can't even sleep because I'm so excited. In the letter I read from Leah, she talked about how she can't wait to see me when my semester is over. She told me all about what's going on with her and Sofia, and that Sofia misses me as well. I know she could've just sent all that as a text message, but letters somehow seem so much more sentimental.
It was nice of her to send me something. And it made me realize how badly I want to see her, so that's why I made the decision to surprise her.

The plane finally lands, and I quickly stand up. I get my luggage and walk out of the airport. I call a cab and tell them the directions to my apartment.
As we drive into the city, I just get more and more excited. I've missed the loud noises and bright lights of New York. I know I said France is similar to New York, but it's just so much more lively here.
We get to my apartment building and I pay the driver. Once I get out of the car, I look up at the big tall building and just embrace it. I breathe in the city air and finally walk into the building. I get to my room and slowly open the door.
I look around at the familiar space, and I just get so happy. I set my stuff down and plop onto my couch. I look up at the ceiling and just smile to myself.
A couple minutes later, I hear a knock on my door. I lift my head and raise one brow since I have no idea who it could be.
I stand up and go to open the door. I see Sage standing there for a second until she throws herself onto me, giving me a huge hug. "Jen!" She says excitingly as we're still hugging. "Sage!" I laugh and hug her back.
I did text Sage what time my flight would land, so I guess she came as soon as possible. "Ugh I missed you!" She says and pulls away, kissing my cheek multiple times.
"I've literally been crying myself to sleep every night." She says and I laugh. "I missed you too." I say and hold her hand. "I love you." I smile. "Stop-stop. Don't make me cry." She says, seriously and I laugh.
She laughs with me and tilts her head. "I love you too." She smiles. "Do you have time to hang out?" I ask. "I wish but I have to get back to work...I literally just walked out to come and see you." She says and I widen my eyes.
"Sage!" I giggle. "But are you free tomorrow?" She asks. "Yeah, of course." I nod. "Are you gonna go see Sofia and Leah?" She asks. "Yeah, but I figured I would after tomorrow." I say. "Alright perfect, I'll see you tomorrow." She says and I nod before we say goodbye.
I ended up just heading to sleep since I got up so early. I planned on just taking a nap, but once I woke up, it was the next morning. Whatever.
I get a call from my mom, asking if we could go out for breakfast since she knows I'm home.
So of course I say yes and I get changed into a kind of nice outfit.
I drive there since I finally have my car back, and I walk into the diner. I see my mom sitting at a booth, and I walk over. She stands up quickly once she sees me. "Hi mom." I say sweetly before she pulls me in for a big hug. "My baby..." She says and starts to cry. "Oh my goddd. Mom." I giggle.
"You look so different-. You're gorgeous." She says once she pulls away. "Thanks ma.." I say sweetly before we sit down. We order our food and just talk and talk as we eat.
I tell her all about France, and the new people I've met. She seems so interested with the whole thing, it's really nice that she's listening so intently.
Once we finish up, we say our goodbyes since she has to get to work, and I text Sage that she can come over whenever.
About 2 hours later, Sage finally shows up. "You actually don't know how much I missed you." She says as we're sitting on my couch. "How much?" I ask. "Like a lot." She says and I giggle. "And you look so good. I can't believe you cut your hair." She says since I've always had long hair.
"Me either." I say. We end up watching multiple movies throughout the night as we eat a whole bunch of snacks.
I look over and Sage is passed out. So I turn off the tv and fall asleep too.
I can't wait for tomorrow. I get to see Leah. I'm probably gonna embarrass myself since I'll definitely be crying, but I don't care. As long as I get to see her..
