The Mom Next Door

15-Dinner

*jens pov*

I wake up this morning, completely mesmerized by the dream I had last night. It starts to replay in my head over, and over again.

Leah was in my dream, and let's just say some R rated stuff went down. I keep thinking about it until I hear a light knock on my door. "Yeah?" I say tiredly and Leah walks in. "Hey, you up?" She asks and I nod.

"Sofia doesn't feel too good, I think she got food poisoning so I'm not gonna go to work today." She explains. "No, I can stay with her. You can go." I assure her since I know she doesn't get many chances to miss work and we came all the way out here for her job.

"Are you sure? She's throwing up." She tells me. "I can handle it Leah." I tell her. "Ok, well I'll get dressed and leave in a little bit." She says and I nod. Once she leaves, I get up and brush my teeth and hair.

I walk into Leah's room. "Hey. You okay baby?" I ask Sofia. "My stomach hurts" She says softly. "Awe I'm sorry." I say and sit beside her on the bed and get under the covers as she cuddles up to me.

"You think it was something you ate?" I ask her and she nods her head. "Ok well just try and relax, don't think about your stomach hurting." I tell her. "I can't." She sighs. "Are you tired?" I ask her since it's early and she says yes. "We'll try and fall back asleep, then you won't even be awake to think about it." I say and she stays quiet.

Leah comes out of the bathroom and puts her heels on. "You sure you're good?" Leah asks me. "I promise. Have a good day." I tell her. "See you later." She says and walks out. I look down at Sofia laying on my chest, and her eyes are closed so I'm guessing she's trying to fall asleep.

I put a show on the tv and turn the volume down, then I end up falling asleep too.

About an hour later, I wake up with Sofia in my arms, still asleep. I cautiously get up and try not to wake her.

I go take a quick shower then I get dressed. Once I come out of the bathroom, Sofia's awake.

"Hey, you feeling better?" I ask. "A little." She says tiredly. "Maybe taking a warm bath will help." I suggest since that always makes you feel a little better.

"Yeah." She agrees. "Yeah? I'll start the water for you." I say and go back in the bathroom to fill up the tub.

Eventually she gets in the bath and I watch tv as I wait for her to finish. When she comes out, dressed, she watches tv with me.

We sit around for awhile until Leah walks through the door. "Hey." She says as she shuts the door. "Hey." I say.

"Hey baby, you feeling better?" She asks Sofia. "Yeah. I took a bath and it helped." She nods. "That's good." Leah says and kisses her forehead.

"I thought we could just stay inside today and chill out. Is that okay with you Jen?" She asks me and takes off her jacket. "Yeah that's fine." I nod.

The rest of our time in California was pretty fun, we didn't do anything too exciting, but it was nice being together.

We're on the way back home now, and I'm just looking out the window. Leah looks in the backseat to see Sofia asleep, then she puts her eyes back on the road.

"What're you doing next week?" I ask Leah. "Well, Sofia's gonna be at her dad's house, so nothing special. Just work." She shrugs. "That sounds boring." I say and she giggles. "It is. What about you? What're you doing?" She asks.

"Probably schoolwork." I shrug. "That sounds boring." She mocks me and I laugh. "I guess we both have a boring week ahead of us." I sigh. "You know, you can come over whenever you want, even is Sofia isn't home." She tells me.

"Well I don't wanna interrupt your alone time." I say. "You're fine. I don't mind being with you." She shrugs. "Ok then. I'll come over sometime next week." I say.

"Yeah?" She asks and I nod. "I'll cook you dinner." I say confidently. "Cook me dinner?" She raises one brow. "Yeah- and don't even try to say anything, because I can cook." I say and she giggles. "Ok, ok." She nods.

"I look forward to it." She looks at me. "As you should." I say and she smiles.
