*leahs pov*
I watch Jen keep that face of confusion on as my hand is resting on her thigh.
She looks down at my hand, then in my eyes."You sure you don't wanna go lay down?..." I ask softly. She keeps quiet for a second and just keeps my eyes at hers. "I still need one more class..." She says quietly. "Let's go." I say softly.
I stand up and walk around the couch. "C'mon." I say to her and she stands up, walking over to me. I step closer to her and she eyes me down. Suddenly her phone starts to ring on the couch. She looks over and realizes it's her mom.
"Oh- I was supposed to go somewhere with her." She says. "That's okay." I say softly. "I should go." She says and gets her stuff. "I'll walk you out." I say and follow her to the front door.
"Thanks for the help Leah...and for everything else." She says and I giggle. "You're welcome. I'll see you later baby." I say and she smiles. "Bye." she says and walks through the door.
"Oh! Jen wait." I tell her. "Yeah?" She says once she turns around. "I have a really big favor to ask..." I say and she tilts her head. "What is it?" She asks. "I have a business trip next week, and Angelo's already on one, so I need someone to watch Sof." I start to say.
"Oh, sure. You know I can watch her." She shrugs. "Yeah but that's not it." I say and she raises one brow. "I promised Sofia she could come with me since it's in California, sooo could you come with us to watch her?" I ask and bite my lip, hoping she'll say yes.
"To California??" She asks and I nod my head. "What day next week?" She asks. "Tuesday, and we'll be back on Friday." I tell her the details.
"I don't wanna leave Sofia in the hotel the whole time, I thought maybe you could take her out and just watch her." I say. "I think I could do that. I've always wanted to go to Cali anyways." She shrugs. "Really??" I ask, expecting her to be busy next week.
"Yeah. I can just take my schoolwork with me." She says. "Ok, thankyou so much." I shake my head. "You're welcome. Just text me what time we're leaving and I'll be ready." She says.
"Ok, bye Jennifer." I say and hug her. She leaves and I head back inside.
-
"Hi my love!" I say and Sofia jumps in my arms. "Hi mom." She says and hugs me. "I missed you baby." I say and kiss her head. I wave at Angelo in his car before he drives away and me and Sof go inside.
"How was it babe, did you have fun?" I ask and shut the door. "Yeah, we went fishing!" She says and I raise one brow. "Fishing? Wow. That's sounds fun." I nod even though I hate fishing.
"Yeah it was cool." She shrugs. "Did you eat the fish you caught?" I ask and help her take off her shoes. "No. I threw all mine back in the water. But daddy ate his." She says and I nod.
-
"Almost done packing?" I walk into Sofia's room. "Yep." She says. I walk over to her and sit on the ground beside her so I can check her suitcase. Sofia's already packing for California. We're leaving the day after tomorrow and I always make her pack early so we won't miss our flight. I already told her that Jennifer is coming, and she couldn't be more excited.
I'm glad there will be someone there to entertain her and take her out to see some things around. I wouldn't have been able to just leave her alone everyday.
"Babe- you only packed pajamas." I say, looking at all the matching pjs. This is why I check her bag. "Welp. Sorry." She shrugs and stands up, leaving me to pack her bag for her.
I get all the clothes she needs for the trip, and pack them. Including shoes, her toothbrush and stuff like that. Once I finish, it's basically Sofia's bedtime.
"Love you too." Sofia says once I tuck her in. I walk out of her room and shut the door behind me. It's a good thing I check Sofia's bags because this isn't the first time she's only packed comfortable clothes.
But I know Sofia is really excited for this trip, especially since Jennifer is coming. That's even more exciting.
