Elmer got the job, his aunt Della brought him to the castle about a week ago. Showed him all around the castle, not every place but the places he is allowed in and those are the servants kitchen, servants quarters then the garden, nowhere else but also those places look better than his house. The castle is massive with so many workers and guards. Elmer knew that the royal garden would be big but nothing prepared him for the massive garden he found, filled with all different types of flowers.

Elmer had bought a book about flowers, he didn't go to school but he has tried educating himself through something he loves the most, flowers though mostly his sister taught him all that he knows, how to read, write and so on since she went to school. His parents couldn't afford both of them to go to school but they made sure Seren taught Elmer about staff she learns.

Elmer has been reading most of the flowers from the books and seeing them with his own eyes makes it so wonderful. Reading about something then seeing it with his own eyes made Elmer think he was in heaven, he has been living in heaven for days now and he finally got a chance to meet the prince. He was in the kitchen having lunch when the prince came in, they used to tell Elmer that he had eyes that resemble the prince's eyes but he never believed them until he had a chance to see Prince Ernest's eyes. They are exactly like his that even the prince was shocked but most of all it is prince Ernest's behavior that put everything to shame.

He was so sweet, so casual that he shook Elmer's hand. Elmer had heard that they don't do that unless you're a noble and Elmer is just a nobody but the prince touched his hand and welcomed him. He was as sweet as they say he is even more, so friendly, the air that comes from him is welcoming. What made Elmer fit in more was the fact that nobody knows about him being a cursed child, this is the only time Elmer hasn't been called out on what he is, he feels normal just like everyone else "And this is Elmer" Elmer turned around when he heard the prince's voice.

"My prince" Elmer's voice came out shocked as he bowed earning a laugh from Ernest "My lady" Elmer bowed again as the two smiled, he has just come into this and he knows literally nothing on how to great the royals, it is so nice Ernest is so kind or he would be dead by now.

"He is the new gardner" Lady Rylee nodded smiling at him "So Elmer, what flower would you give to this beautiful lady right here" Ernest said pointing at Rylee whose face turned bright red "What flower would suit her?"

"If you could follow me.....I mean I want to take you where the flower is- I didn't mean for you to be a follower, it is just-"

"Just be free, nothing bad is going to happen" Elmer tried calming his heart. No matter how sweet Ernest is he is still a royal and any mistake can lead to his death just like now. How can he tell a royal to follow him, was he even thinking, clearly not if he could say something like that "Take us where you wanted to take us" Elmer shook his head from his thoughts making his way to the flower that he sees fit for the lady. They walked behind him having small conversation and the way Ernest is speaking just makes Elmer want to find someone who he will talk to except his mother. Their are some things that deserve to be told to a lover or a friend.

Elmer reached the flowers he has been searching for, Carac lilies, they are beautiful but hard to grow. They need a lot of water and that is why they are in pots, Elmer got them from the swamp. The previous gardner might have put them their for their need of so much water but Elmer believes they are more beautiful in a house than somewhere far away. Elmer picked up two handing them to Lady Rylee who took them with a smile "Why that flower?" Ernest asked.

"She is beautiful, she deserves a flower that symbolizes her beauty"

"Thank you" Lady Rylee said smelling the flowers in her hands with a smile. Ernest smiled thanking Elmer before they continued on their way. Elmer's eyes followed them as they disappeared in the sea if flowers, he released a heavy sigh of relief. He didn't know he was holding his breath all along, the prince talking to him so casually, who would have thought that Elmer would ever meet the prince or talk to him or get his woman flowers and get a thank you in return. Nobody has ever thanked or smiled at Elmer except his family but now he is being smiled at by the prince 'Who knew' Elmer smiled getting back to his work, he loves this job so much.

"Bert more" Proteus yelled again for Bert to do it harder, Bert tried a little harder encouraging himself that just a little more and it will be done. He has been in training for the last two hours and this is it, if he can do this it will all be over and he can fall back down and rest for the rest of the day. Bert fought harder, this is the biggest thing he has ever been asked to conjure and it is hard to finish, he is usually asked to conjure weapons, swords, spears and so many but today he has to create two guards each with a weapon making it harder than ever before.

He didn't know what this helps but he has to do it and be done with it. Bert focused his mind finishing them up and as he fell down to his knees two guards with swords were standing in front of him. Bert was so tired to care why he was asked to make them, he was just relieved they were done "Good job, now go get ready for dinner"

"Wait" Bert breathed in and out hard while pointing at the guards he has just made "What are they for?'

"For when your powers are low, they can fight for you. Now make them disappear" Bert groaned, it took him hours just trying to make them now he has to take them apart.

"Why can't they stay, I might need them"

"Then you will make others, hurry or you won't get diner tonight" Proteus made his way out of the training room leaving an exhausted Bert down who now needs to hurry to the dinner table. Bert made the two guards disappear, it has always been so annoying how it is hard to conjure staff but so easy to make them disappear, Bert got up walking into his room where he took a well needed shower before going into the chaotic dining room that is filled with the Greenes. The Greene family is filled with so many people that the house never quiets down as they have an entire clan living in one place, that is why Bert had to hurry up and get to dinner so that he won't miss food.

Those are the disadvantages of having a very big family, Bert made his way to his favorite aunt Clio sitting beside her as the rest took their seats. Everyone started having conversations among themselves, the table never quieting down. At the head sat, Proteus and on his left sat Lyra, Bert's mother. The table went on with uncle Damon, Bert's cousin Hernia and next to him had to be Bert's older brother "Where is Atlas?" Bert asked his aunt, the closet one to him.

"He is in Dagen, your dad told him to take care of something" Bert is so close to his brother and he would have known if he was taking a trip to Dagen, that didn't sit well with Bert for the entire dinner.
