*Execution*

"You trying to prove you're not cold hearted doesn't mean you have to do my job" Elmer didn't know that this was going to happen when he said he will think about it. There are so many ways to prove you're not evil like letting the person do their job, Bert helping out doesn't prove that, he is just getting in the way of Elmer's job by messing things up. What the prince said was true, Bert is messy and Elmer has gotten a chance to witness that sadly

"Only if I spend time with you, will I ever get a chance to prove I am not cold hearted"

"If you say so but please stop messing up my job"

"What did I do?" Bert asked as if he doesn't see what he is doing to the pot "I feel like the plant will be happy staying in this"

"It will die, if you don't fix it"

"Then teach me how" Elmer groaned as Bert smirked, he is trying to prove himself but he just can't help but mess with Elmer more and more because it is fun "I am messing with you, I am a Greene gardening is in my blood"

"What is up with you people and names?" Elmer doesn't get it, he is Moirai but it doesn't mean he is destiny as Era said, it is just a name it only works if it has power behind it but since it is with him, it means nothing.

"Names are everything"

"I know that but just because your name is this, it doesn't mean you have to be it" Bert seems like he is getting it but actually he isn't getting it that he asked Elmer to elaborate on what he means on that "My name is Moirai, princess Era said it means destiny in french- no, in-"

"Greek"

"Yes Greek" Elmer didn't remember what she said, there are a lot of weird names and sometimes they just drive Elmer to the edge "She said it means destiny and that I am destiny yet it is just a name"

"They all start out like that" Bert pulled a stone taking a seat "They are just names until they become more than that like Felstead. No one knew who they are until Farren Felstead won the war between the monsters and our kingdom which was called Alval by then, when he won the war with us the Greene's by his side, the people wanted king Farren to be the king, together they overflew king Alval. So what I am trying to say is, live up to your name, it has to describe you in some way"

"I didn't-" They heard commotion coming from the town cutting Elmer off before he could finish what he was about to say, all maids were up and running throughout the castle "What is going on?"

"Public execution, come we go" Elmer didn't want to witness someone getting killed but he was left with no choice when Bert pulled his hand all the way from the garden. They ran through the castle, Bert took Elmer into a place he has never been in since he isn't allowed in those places. Bert pulled him up the stairs, Elmer thought they should be getting off of castle grounds since the execution is out in town but Bert pulled him up a tone of stairs.

They ran up with Elmer getting scared, he was told specifically by Aunt Della to not come this ends because servants are not allowed here. Bert pushed one of the door open and they passed through a piano room to the balcony where they found Ernest "You're already here" Bert said breathing heavily.

"I have been looking for you"

"I have been in the garden helping Elmer out" Bert replied pulling Elmer onto the balcony who bowed greeting the prince "Who is getting executed?"

"A woman gave birth to two children" Ernest replied leaning on the balcony, here they can see clearly down below in town where everyone is, gathered. Giving birth to two children is a curse in the kingdom, in Felstead it is believed that one pregnancy can't have more than one child and if it has more than one it means one of them is cursed and since it is hard to know which of the children is cursed both children get executed yo save the kingdom from the curse.

Elmer has heard about it in the village but he has never witnessed it before. He glanced in the town where the execution is going to take place and there is a woman  on the platform with two men next to her, she is holding one child while the other man is holding the other child. They pulled the two children from the blankets, the children got pulled out of the blankets and they were held by the legs before they were waved around as a guy with a knife walked to them

Elmer watched the child getting executed by the man, he didn't move, blink, he just felt sad. Watching two young children get executed just made his eyes water without him noticing it. Just seeing those children being laid down lifeless, he might not have heard the cries from the distance he is in but he felt their pain in those last few seconds "Excuse me" Elmer didn't wait for their replies as he made his way past the piano room and back in the hallway, he walked down the stairs wiping his fallen tears away as hard as possible but his eyes just seem to not stop.

He has never witnessed an execution before, he saw a punishment once. He didn't like it even though the man had deserved it for raping a woman. Now his first execution and he has to witness two children get executed, Elmer feels like there could have been a way to stop this because it just doesn't seem right - "Elmer what are you doing here?" Aunt Della asked in a hushed whisper looking around.

"Bert brought me here to see the execution" Elmer replied wiping his eyes "They have just executed children"

"Shhhh" Della snapped "Never talk about it again, do you hear me, don't ever talk to anyone about what happened" Della was serious, her eyes showed how serious she was about what she was talking about and Elmer has never seen her like this, like she is trying to protect him but also not saying from what.

"Who is this?" Hattie asked appearing next to Della, Elmer bowed so low with what his aunt told him working in his head.

"Elmer, my sister's son" Della introduced "The one I told you about, for the job in the garden"

"Oh, nice meeting you Elmer, why so sad"

"He has just witnessed his first execution" Della replied for him, Elmer was great full, he doesn't think he has the energy to say anything with all the things moving around his head and the fact that he is in the presence of the queen, Elmer has not seen Hattie ever since he arrived to the castle.

"Don't worry, just know that no one is ever executed without a reason. Those were just cursed children" She touched his shoulder "Your eyes are just like my son's eyes just sad, but don't worry. Della will make you something to drink with some cookies, you will be back to normal" Hattie smiled walking away getting into her room. Elmer didn't get time to admire her more when he was pulled by his aunt

"She is so nice and beautiful, she smells like lavender and her skin looks soft, she touched my shoulder" Elmer said looking back, the way she talks just like the prince and her smile is filled with light, just like Margaret's smile. Her warm soft comforting hand- Elmer got yanked into a room so hard that he felt his hand get bruised.

"I told you, I gave you one instruction. Don't get out of the servants quarters, now look what you have done"

"But Bert-"

"I don't want to hear your excuses" Della snapped in a dealt tone scaring Elmer "When I tell you something do it without a question, never come back here do you understand" her tone left no room for questions

"Yes aunt Della"

"Now get back in the garden" Elmer didn't know why his aunt was reacting when the queen didn't, Ernest didn't either but he didn't question that. Elmer has noticed how his aunt becomes so cautious when it comes to the royals, which she shouldn't be, they are the sweetest people Elmer has ever met.
