Chapter 14

*Impossible love*

Ernest got into his carriage that will be taking him home after spending two weeks in Caldor. He was supposed to spend a month to know his new wife more but the place is boring without Bert to lighten the mood in the freezing kingdom, Ernest has had to cover up all the time ever since he arrived, Caldor has nothing fun to look at and having to pretend to be into Rylee makes it all harder than before. Before all he had to do was spend time with her, show her around but in her kingdom Ernest had to struggle.

He is doing this for his kingdom but if he had a choice, his choice would be Bert without a question. He knows it is impossible but he still can't hope for a chance with Bert, he had to come back with Rylee because he accepted the marriage which will take place in a few months and through those times they will have to learn each other. Ernest is just glad he can leave Caldor, his body wasn't meant for that much cold and he misses Bert with all his heart.

Ernest pulled out a jewel he got from Caldor, the kingdom of jewel. It is a pendant with a green stone, Ernest saw it and he wanted it for Bert that he offered to buy it but the king told him to just take it since he is going to become the new son in law Ernest knows it will look great on Bert's neck "My prince" Rylee called from her chair gaining Ernest's attention "You seem to like the pendant"

"I do" Ernest admitted putting it back into his pocket "Are you sure you would like to stay with me until the wedding" Rylee nodded with a smile "Won't you miss home, I know it has been just two weeks but I miss home"

"I will miss it but you're my future husband, your home is going to be my new home" Ernest smiled taking her hand pecking it.

"I can't wait to marry you" Rylee smiled her face turning red, Ernest knows that he and Bert will never work, they have to just stay friends, prince and protector and Ernest needs a queen that will bare him children, though his heart can't keep to yearn out for Bert, to want him instead, to love him instead. That wish can't just fade away but the reality definitely is, him and Bert can't happen. It will never happen no matter how much he wishes for it to happen, he might be the next king and soon he will have so much power but there are certain things he can't change himself.

"Della" Hattie called closing the envelope she has just received, her son is finally coming back with the future queen. It shows that Ernest was finally able to convince the Caldor King about making their daughter the new queen of Felstead but who would say no to the Felstead. Making an alliance with them is the best thing for any kingdom, Hattie can't wait to see her son again. Della entered greeting Hattie who was staring at herself in the mirror "Della I need you to inform everyone that there will be a party for my son's arrival with our new queen"

"Yes my queen" Della nodded walking out, she followed the hallway going into the kitchen to inform everyone about the party. She told the cooks, the people who are in charge of decorations to start their work, she passed through everyone and made sure they invite those that need to be around to invite the prince back with the new queen. Della passed everyone but the person she couldn't find was Elmer, the boy has been disappearing a lot lately. Elmer is never in the flowers like he used to be, Della would usually find him there but now days he is never in the garden.

Della passed through the entire castle but she couldn't find him and she had to tell someone else to get the flowers for the party. Sometimes Della thinks it was a wrong idea to bring Elmer to the castle, his adoration for the queen isn't what Della wanted. Della wanted Elmer to not feel alone or like he didn't belong, she doesn't know what would happen if Elmer arrived but she didn't expect him to get so close to every royal around. Della wants the queen to get unmasked for the truth but she feels like this might only affect Elmer in the process.
