Elmer was still in his slumber when a harsh tap on his shoulder woke him up. He opened his eyes to find guards above him "Get up" he was asked, Elmer got up quickly that he hurt his ribs a little bit making him hiss "You're under arrest" Elmer thought he wasn't listening but he was and that took all the sleep he was feeling out of his body. Those words were coming from a very big man with a sword oh his waist

"F-for w-wha-what" Elmer stuttered, his head going out in circles, he believes he hasn't done anything wrong or illegal. He only remembers staying in his room all day except when he was out with Bert for a little while before being helped back inside. He stayed in his quarters the entire evening ever since Bert left, now he is asking himself why he is getting arrested.

"Move" the guard ordered without reply while pushing Elmer out of his room. Elmer wanted to ask what was happening, why he was getting pushed the way he was but the guard looked angry as he kept on pushing Elmer and most of the times Elmer almost lost his footing almost hitting the cold mable ground "Move" the guard pushed more as they reached the stairs going where the cells are. The guard they found down got up opening one of the cells "Get in"

"What did this one do?" The guard asked locking the door where Elmer has just been pushed in. Elmer turned around to listen to the reason why he was arrested, he has been pushed all the way to the cell without a coat or shoes and he hasn't found out the reason why.

"He stole from the royals" the guards who pushed Elmer from his room replied. Elmer looked at him with his mouth hung open, he hasn't stolen anything. Elmer looked at him with an open mouth, he didn't steal anything. Why would he steal from the people who have showed him nothing but kindness. The two guards who pushed Elmer here walked out leaving him with one who walked back to his chair, taking a seat with newspapers in hand

"Stealing from the royals kid, do you have a death wish"

"I didn't steal anything" Elmer defended, he himself doesn't know what is going on and what he stole, he is as confused as the guard who thinks he would ever be able to steal anything "I am innocent"

"That is what they all say" The guard replied, but this isn't just a saying. He didn't steal anything, all of this is a mistake, he would never steal anything. He has never stolen anything in his life why would he start now, yes he is living in a place full of expensive staff but he would never think about doing something like that.

"They might all say that but I am innocent"

"Go to sleep kid" Elmer didn't say anything else as he moved to the small bed in the cell sitting down. This is all a misunderstanding and it will be proved very soon. Elmer tried getting comfortable without hurting his ribs on the small worn out bed, this misunderstanding will be fixed tomorrow, he knew he didn't have to worry about it but he still couldn't stop his heart from pounding in his chest scared of what is going to happen

Everyone in the castle had already heard the word about Elmer's arrest for robbing the prince. Some who had never liked Elmer in the first place we're happy because they knew something was off with him from the beginning, some were in disbelief but if he was arrested that makes this true. They had never arrested anyone who was not guilty.

Everyone had different views but he was the topic all around the castle, the one who was attacked in town, robbing from the royals, some thought he might have lied about the attack just to get closer to Ernest so that he can rob him in the process. Many were angry at him, their prince put himself in danger to defend him, how could he repay them like that. They needed justice to be served, theft is mostly served by fifty whips but since he robbed the royals some just want him to get executed for what he did.
