Elmer smiled as Bert and Ernest hugged, finally getting over whatever had happened between them. Elmer could feel the tension they had, Bert was avoiding Ernest like a plague whereas Ernest looked sad while staring at Bert. It was hard to watch and Elmer knows how much Ernest means to Bert, he would like to make Bert happy by him having his best friend back and next to his side just like it used to be. Elmer wanted to go out and talk to the both of them when a hand stopped him by holding his shoulder.

"We need to talk" Atlas said with a serious voice, he doesn't look like he is about to murder Elmer which is good but why would Atlas want to talk to him. Ever since Elmer arrived in town and at the castle, he has been at Bert's house a few times but they never talk with Atlas. Elmer nodded following him behind, he doesn't know what to think about this but he shouldn't think over his head without knowing what Atlas wants, maybe he is here for flowers or he is here to....what ever it was Elmer decided not to think the worst, his life might not be perfect but not everything is going to go wrong all the time so there was no need to think of the worst.

Atlas walked into the back yard near the fence telling the guards to give them space. He is a Greene so the guards listened to him creating space between the two "I want you to stay away from my brother" Atlas ordered after the guards were far enough where they couldn't hear them, his tone left no room for argument "Stay away from my brother, you don't get to teach him your abomination ways" Elmer didn't know what to say, his heart was pounding in his heart. He can do anything, anything can happen to him but staying away from Bert is something Elmer feels incapable of doing.

Bert is practically his moving force, he is his only happiness. The only light in the dark world he is living, his first morning thought, the one person that makes his heart pound in excitement, his touch makes him want to fly. Bert is his everything, his life, Elmer feels like it is the most impossible thing he can ever do "He is not like you, stay away from him you cursed child" Atlas made himself clear right before walking away leaving Elmer there staring at the wall. He knew that what he has with Bert is not right and it should be hidden from everyone. He knew no one will understand what he has with Bert, something uncontrollable, something he didn't know he was until Bert. Something he didn't know he was looking for, something do wrong but do right

Elmer doesn't know what to do now, he knows he has to let go of Bert for their sake but that will be the hardest thing Elmer has ever had to do in his life. Letting Bert go, he doesn't know if he will be able to do it, how can he begin to take out the light in his life "Hey" Elmer was startled from his thoughts by Bert "I didn't mean to scare you, are you good" Elmer nodded shrugging away Bert's hand from his shoulder.

"Yeah, I have to go" Elmer doesn't think he can do this now, he needs time before he can face this. He turned to leave but Bert held his hand.

"Tell me what's wrong" Bert's voice was full of worry, he has always been worried about Elmer "What happened?"

"Nothing-"

"Elmer you have to talk to me" Bert insisted, Elmer always keeps things to himself. He never shares staff with Bert and Bert wants to know what hurts Elmer, what is wrong because he is always here to listen. He would want to know what hurts Elmer and why he would be sad now yet he was happy before Bert went to talk to Ernest "Talk-"

"Don't touch me" Elmer pulled away from Bert "I don't want to see you now" Elmer snapped walking away from Bert. He doesn't need Bert to show care when he is about to lose him, Elmer doesn't want to drag Bert down with him, his life is already bad whereas Bert's life is perfect. He has a destiny to fulfill, Elmer can't let Bert get dragged down by this. Bert loves his brother, Elmer just can't get between them especially him. Family is always better than anything else and Elmer just can't get between that 'Why does everything have to be hard?'

Sometimes it feels like the universe is against Elmer in everything. He had finally found the one but it is impossible and now he is about to lose him. Elmer didn't know he was scared of losing Bert until the possibility of actually losing him "When will things just be fine"

Bert doesn't know what happened, when he left to talk to Ernest everything was okay with Elmer but now he seemed upset about something. Bert has caught Elmer sad on several occasions, Elmer always found a way to not tell Bert what is wrong but when he is around Elmer seemed to lighten up. Not today though, Elmer seemed worried about something which is worrying Bert too "Did something happen?" Ernest asked walking besides Bert.

"I don't know, I think something happened to Elmer, he seemed sad"

"Maybe he needs space, you have been with him a lot this month" Bert knows that Ernest said that because he doesn't know what is happening between him and Elmer but that still hurt. Why would Elmer want space from Bert, in a matter of fact they should be together so that they can talk. In this case Elmer just needs to open up more, he needs to let Bert in whatever is bothering him "Era is coming tonight, will you be around. I am sure she would like to see you"

"I don't know, I am kind of tired. Maybe tomorrow" Bert was definitely not in the mood for anything

"Yeah okay" Ernest said kind of disappointed, it has been long ever since he spent time with Bert and he thought that maybe after reconciling they would spend some more time together today. Ernest regrets the day he kissed Bert, he should have stayed with his feelings instead of ruining his friendship with Bert and he doesn't know how he will be able to get them back to where they were before all of this happened.

"See you tomorrow" Bert just wants to talk to Elmer so that they can talk about what happened earlier but maybe Ernest is right and a little space will do them good. Maybe tomorrow Elmer will be ready to talk to Bert, it isn't what Bert wants but it is what he has to do. Bert knows one thing, space from Elmer sucks
