Chapter 12

After that night, a lot changed.

Umuwi ako ng maaga sa Pinas. I told my parents that I have something to do back home. I wasn't lying, because I had to pass papers to my school although I wanted to stay in London for a while. But just like that, bumalik ang old rules. They wouldn't have agreed but Jace and Ivy talked to them. So I got to fly back.

Ice already went home earlier than I did. He even messaged me and told me that he already missed me. Para kaming mga bata pero hindi ito ang oras para magreklamo. It still makes me happy.

"Cheers!" Ivy raised her glass.

We're in my house because no one's even here besides me. I only invited my close friends and some of their closest friends since I trust them. 

"Ivy, if you get drunk, you'll regret calling random people and telling them you miss them. Baka magka-jowa ka pa sa ganon, ah." tumawa si Luca.

"Hoy, never again! Why would I even do that?" nanliit ang mga mata niya kay Luca. Luca gave her a teasing look and laughed. 

"Sa'yo nalang 'tong number ko para hindi mo na maabala 'yong ibang tao." bulong ni Tino sa kanya pero rinig pa rin naming lahat.

She cringed and looked away. Is Tino really hitting on her? That's not new but it feels weird since he's friends with Ice. It feels awkward in here but it will get better, I guess.

"How was London, Ry?" Jace looked at me and so they all stopped to look at me too.

I looked at Ice. He's looking away because he knows I'll be embarrassed to answer that.

"It was okay. Next time, let's all go together!" I excitedly said.

"Really," Ice whispered. I gave him a fake cough and he just laughed.

We're with Tino, Birch, Zeth, Caleb, and Elena. Caleb and Elena are Ivy's close friends. Meron pa raw na dalawa pero hindi sila makakapunta. This is enough, anyway. We're quite a lot and I don't think I'll be able to clean it all up if more came.

"Zeth, tama na sa pagbabasa! Ano 'yan? Science book?" Birch took his book and scanned the whole thing. Zeth looked at me so I smiled at him and he only nodded awkwardly. What's up with him? Ngayon ko lang ulit siya nakausap at nakasama.

"Once a nerd, always a nerd. It's not a bad thing! Sinasabi ko lang." Tino shrugged.

"I don't know what to say so I'm just reading," he said and took his book from Birch.

"I'll get you guys more food. I'll be back." I stood up and went to our kitchen. There were more cookies and sweets. I was saving it all for when I'm stressed but this is a good time to share it too. I can just bake or order more, anyway.

"You really like sweets, huh?" I looked in Ice's direction. He's leaning against the wall, looking at all the cookies on the table. "I know a really good shop that sells delicious pastries." he's like trying to get me to go there.
