Chapter 26

I've been sitting on my bed for a long time, staring at my phone. I've been wanting to call him so we could talk and fix everything. Nagulat ako nang may kumatok sa pintuan ng kwarto ko. 

"May I enter your room, Ate?" When I heard her voice, I immediately stood up and opened the door for her. "You haven't touched your food yet. I brought it here because I was worried.." She said and placed the plate on my side table.

"Thank you, Selene." I smiled and sat on my bed.

"I overheard your argument with Kuya. He's been through a lot. Maybe he's scared that it might happen again." She sat beside me. Naalala ko 'yung kinuwento sa akin ni Kobie nung isang araw. "He was crying when he called me earlier." dagdag niya.

My eyes widened and looked at her. "I'm sorry," I whispered.

"Do you know what he told me?" she asked with a smile. "He told me to take care of you and make sure that you eat." My heart sank when I heard that.

"W-Was that it?"

"Well, that was all he told me." she shrugged and chuckled. "But he'll tell you more." she leaned on my shoulder.

"Will he even talk to me?" I asked her.

"Of course, he will. But he wants you to have enough rest and eat well before you meet and talk again." she sighed and patted my back. "He cares a lot, Ate." I nodded at her.

When she left my room, later on, I took small bites of the food that she prepared for me. I've been taking my time to rest so I could also clear my head. After eating, I've been waiting for him to call me. But if he doesn't, I will call him before I sleep again.

Just before I dialed his number, I heard another knock on my door. I slowly got out of my bed and opened the door. There he is, standing in front of me. I moved to the side so he could enter and I closed the door behind. We were pretty quiet for a few minutes.

"Did you eat?" he asked, looking at the empty plate.

"Yeah, I did." I crossed my arms and sat on the chair in front of my vanity table.

"Okay," he nodded. "Were you sleeping? We can talk it out tomorrow." He was about to stand but I also stood up and spoke.

"No, I wasn't." I hurriedly said. "I was about to call you." I couldn't look at him. This is awkward. We're both not ready to talk, are we?

"Really?" he sounded relieved.

"Yeah,"

He sat back down. I also did and looked away.

"I'm sorry if I snapped at you." he started. "I trust you, Ry. I just got.. jealous. Especially because he's your ex." He sighed and I can feel him look at me.
