Chapter 16

"Zeth! You're here!" Napatayo si Tino para salubungin siya.

"Sorry, na-late. May readings, eh." he quietly sat beside them and I did too. He awkwardly looked at me and I just smiled at him.

"Best teacher in the future, Zeth?" tumawa si Birch at inakbayan ito. "Napaka-nerd! Bawasan mo naman pagkatalino mo at baka makuha mo girls ko."

"Unahan mo kasi. Ang bagal mo." binatukan siya ni Tino. "May kilala akong single! Si Elena." ngumiti pa siya na nakaka-asar.

"Wag doon. Kilala ko crush no'n." He glanced at Jace. "Ay kilala niyo ba yung mga bago? Gago, ang ganda nung taga-engineering. S-Serenity ba 'yon?" hula niya na parang hindi sigurado.

"Sino naman 'yon? Ang dami mong alam." Tino sighed.

"Nakita ko lang! 'Di ko naman malapitan parang ang cold, eh."

Halos walang nakikinig sa usapan nila dahil mga walang interes naman ang mga 'to. They were all talking about something else. I sighed and drank water. I was spacing out the whole time.

"Are you bored? Should we go?" bulong ni Jace sa akin. I shook my head and smiled. "Do you want to do something?"

"Oy, oy ano 'yan? Walang tatakas!" binagsakan kami ng beer ni Birch pero mabilis na kinuha ni Luca 'yong akin at sinara naman ni Jace 'yong bote.

"Bawal." sabi ni Luca pagkatapos niyang inumin 'yong akin. "Gusto mo bang mapatay tayo?" tumingin sila kay Ivy. Masama lang silang tinignan nito. They're scared of her, huh.

"I-Ikaw? You won't drink?" Tino was giving her a glass.

"Ba't mo ba ko nilalasing? Baka ikaw pa buhatin ko d'yan mamaya." she crossed her arms.

They couldn't do anything so they just drank by themselves. Luca drank a bit more and Jace only took a sip. Kumakain lang si Ivy sa tabi habang minamataan ako. We talked for a bit and then we all decided to go home. It's the weekends so I went home to Mama and Papa. They let me do more than before. But they're still cautious and I just agreed to their rules. Now that I know, hindi na ako magrereklamo.

We had a couple of dinners and I decided to be a bit talkative to my relatives. I don't know if they knew I was adopted, too. But it doesn't matter.. I'm a part of the family now. Tinawagan ko sila Ate Nics. I told them everything and they weren't surprised. They must've known already. I felt betrayed but I know why they hid it. Inintindi ko nalang sila.

"How's college?" tanong ni Kuya Rhys.

We had a get-together so we're all here again. I missed them so much.

"It's okay, Kuya. Just had troubles because I had to repeat two classes." I sighed. Upon mentioning my classes, siya ulit naaalala ko. How we broke up and why we broke up. It's funny how a simple block could stop two people from talking. With just a button, you could delete everything.
