Chapter 18: New Years Eve - Part One

Olivia pov

It had been a long day but I was finally back in Sydney at 10 pm new years eve, Mikey and Claire had come to pick me up and we were going straight to the party, I had changed my top in the bathroom so I was wearing something a bit more partyish, it was a black loose-fitting tank top with silver stitching, and for some reason, I travelled in my jeans so that was fine.

I had managed to have some wine on the plane in the last few hours so I had a head start for the party, there was no way I was going to this party sober.

"I missed you so much, you're never leaving me again!" Claire giggles as she drives.

I chuckle, "where is this party anyway?" I smile enjoying being back, once I got on the plane I went straight to sleep so now I'm wide awake and buzzing because of the wine.

"Oh it's out in the middle of nowhere, I think it's Ethan's house. Did you know he was a rich kid?" Mikey says turning round to look at me.

I shrug taking my hair out of its plats "no clue, the only thing I know about Ethan is that he fell through a table at Halloween" I chuckle.

"I have math with him and he's always late and never has his homework with me," Claire giggles as she pulls into the driveway of the house, where cars are parked around the entrance. This place is massive and must be at least 3 floors and is surrounded by woodland. Claire parks up and we all get out of the car, "this is going to be so good! Let's go get you some drinks," Claire giggles pulling me with her with one hand the other hooked on Michaels's arm as we go inside.

We manage to find the table with the drinks on it's more like a self serve bar, it has everything. I just pour myself my usual Jack Daniels and cola, Claire picks up a can of something and Mikey has a beer, "are the others here yet?" I ask them both over the music, "my phones still not working over here" I say to them.

"Calum texted me saying him, Luke and Ashton were all coming with dates so they should be here," Mikey says looking around, "I'll text them and ask where they are"

"Wait, they have dates?" I say trying to act happy, I just wanted to know if Luke really had a date or not.

Mikey nodded, "Calum made them get tinder and they all brought someone..." he chuckles, "don't worry tho it's not like your going to be a 3rd wheel or anything..." he says messing with my hair.

"Shall we try to find them I wanna meet these girls if they're going to be hanging out with us and the boys?" Claire asks damn you Claire I think to myself. I don't want to see Luke, especially if he has a date it would just be awkward and weird.

I shrug, "I don't know, I'm gonna make another drink first," I say, downing my current drink feeling the liquid soothe my thoughts already but I needed another strong one before I could face Luke.

"Gees Liv are you sure drinking a ton is the best idea, I would have thought you would be jet-lagged and just wanna relax." Mikey chuckles looking at me I can see a hint of worry in his eyes,

"I usually drink way more than this, I'll be fine Mikey" I smile up at him.

He thinks about it for a second but before he can say anything his phone goes off, "the boys are in the room at the back, Ashton just texted me" he smiles looking at his phone then back up at me and Claires.

"Let's go," I smiled, holding my now full cup. Michael rolls his eyes but doesn't say anything and leads the way through the ground to a room at the back of the house the boys are all sitting on the couches with 3 girls I can only assume are their dates.

"Olivia!," Calum yells when he sees me jumping up from his seat and hugging me, "you're finally here!!!" he giggles "this is my date, Lucy, Lucy this is Olivia, Michaels sister" he smiles introducing me to the girl who was in the seat next to him, she was gorgeous, her hair was dark and curly and her skin was tanned and covered in freckles.
