Chapter 24: Other People

Olivia POV

The next class I had that day was physics, it happened to be the one I was deading most as my revision hadn't gone as smoothly and I had forgotten everything that I would usually know straight away.

I got there early and sat down in my usual seat. I decided to skip lunch because I was mad at Luke and just didn't want to see people.

"Is this physics 101?" someone says poking their head in the room. I look up to see a boy standing there, he's cute, not as cute as Luke but still cute. I didn't recognise him so he must be new.

"Um yes... are you new?" I say waving slightly from my seat.

He nodded, coming over to sit next to me, "I'm Justin by the way." he smiles getting his books out.

"I'm Olivia, but you can call me Liv if you want," I smile, rocking back and forth on my seat.

"Do you think there will be a quiz? I mean I know it's unlikely because it's the first day back but teachers can be dickheads." he chuckles while getting his note out.

"Mrs Hendrix tends to do a lot of pop quizzes so yes I was up all night revising," I chuckle playing with my bracelet so I can fidget.

"So you're smart then?" he chuckles.

I nodded, "my friends say I'm a bit of a nerd..." we continued to talk for a bit before class about things like why he's moved and what we think the answers to this equation is. Turns out he's like a copy of me. We like the same things and take a lot of the same classes.

When class finishes and I'm packing up he turns to me, "do you wanna study together at some point? Hendrix said we have a test next Thursday or something," he smiles as he stands up with his bag.

"Sure, maybe tomorrow night? Or Saturday?" I say throwing my bag over my shoulder and walking out of class with him.

"Or both?" he chuckles, raising an eyebrow, "can you point me in the direction of the French classes before I go round in circles like a lost puppy?"

I laugh slightly before nodding, "sure just go that way and turn left at the end and you should find it down there." I smiled at him.

"Awesome, see you tomorrow then?" he smiles before heading off down the corridor.

I chuckle and head to chemistry which is just next to the physics class and Luke is standing outside looking straight at me with a frown on his face.

I walk over, "hey you," I smile up at him.

"I know that I said that we could see other people. I just didn't expect you to do it so quickly.." he mumbles so nobody but me can hear.

I gave him a look, "he's just a friend, I literally met him today I was just being nice."

"Sure and you're seeing him tomorrow to do what?" He says still not going into the class.

"To study, gees Hemmings calm down," I say as I walk in to go and sit down.

He follows me while sitting in his seat next to me, "Are you sure that's all he thinks is going to happen?"

"Yes, I can handle myself, he's a good guy. Just drop it will you?" I say shooting a glare at him.

"Fine... but this time I won't save you," he says, getting his stuff out looking smug.

"No need, I can fight my own battles," I grumble, getting my things out, "now please shut up about this."

"Fine."

"Fine."

We manage to sit through class without fighting too much about the whole Justin thing, after class, I walk ahead to my locker knowing I have a sandwich in there. My stomach had made a lot of noise during class and it was obvious I was starving.

"You know you could have just said you wanted food, I have a KitKat in my bag..." I hear from behind me as I dig into my sandwich. I turn round to see Luke leaning on his locker.

"I've been waiting all day for this so don't tease..." I grumble while eating.

He chuckles looking down at me, "you are... such a dork" he says pausing in the middle as if he changed what he was going to say.

"You talking about my sister their Luke?" I hear Michael chuckle from behind me.

"Haven't we already had this conversation today?" I grumble leaning on my locker as I eat my sandwich.

"Yes but I just had to say it again since your lecturing me about biology," Luke chuckles, teasing me and I just glare at him.

"Please stop this guys...I swear." Michael says rolling his eyes and going over to Claire.

I glare up at Luke, "I'm going to the library, don't join me..." I grumble as I turn round to walk away from him. He is so annoying I still don't know what to think, he says that he wants to be casual and then gets all protective when I just talk to a guy he doesn't know.

Luke POV

I watch as Olivia walks away her hair swaying back and forth, I swear she's killing me with all this back and forth I just want her to say she wants to only be with me but that's maybe not going to happen, especially this new guy Julian or whatever his name is is here. I should just meet up with Grace again, she's a nice girl if anything she's a bit too boring we don't have the same banter that I and Liv do. But still, she's nice. And if Liv is seeing this other guy I may as well see someone else too, right?

I get snapped out of my thoughts when Calum comes over, "dude you wanna come to the dinner? I can get lucy to bring grace if you like?"

"Sure that sounds great!" I say looking at him as we walk out of the school.

"Wheres Liv?" Calum asks, looking around realising she's not with us.

"Oh, I think she said something about needing to study for a test and went to be her dorky self in the library." I shrug as if it's nothing when she is all I can think about.
