Olivia POV

It's the night before the last day of finals week. I'm stressed off my head. Just to add to all this my grandparents decided to come over from England for the week after which also happens to be when my birthday is. It's just a lot to happen all at once and all I wanted to do was hide in my bed.

I only had 2 exams tomorrow, maths which would be a breeze and chemistry. Michael has maths and music. For him, music would be a breeze so I offered to help with maths.

I'm busy trying to get Michael to learn about algebra when there's a knock on the door, I was planning to do some chemistry revision with Luke in an hour but he much just be early. I go over to the door and open it and it's my grandparents.

2 days early.

"Olivia! Darling! How are you?" my grandma says pulling me in for a hug. I hug back because I'm speechless I don't know how to tell them they're early without sounding rude.

I hug them both and let them in, "Grandma! Grandpa! Michael come to say hi!" I shout through wanting backup.

"Heyy! This is a surprise I thought you were meant to get here on Saturday?" Michael says coming through. He wasn't that close with them but they still felt like family to him.

"Wow you've grown, the last time I saw you I think you were 8," my grandma says pulling him in for a hug.

I have to hold in a laugh at Michael's face, he can't hide the fact he hates this stuff. My grandpa says something about the flight times being weird.

"Not that it's not great to see you but we have exams tomorrow..." I say as we sit down on the sofas.

"Oh don't worry darling we will stay out the way, the jetlag is going to catch up with us soon, but we thought we could come over for dinner before going back to the hotel for the night." I had somehow managed to get dad to convince them to stay in a hotel so that I didn't have to see them every second of every day and they could do their own thing.

I look at the time, 20 minutes till Luke was meant to arrive. "I think we can cook something easy, but I have a friend coming in 20 minutes to revise with so have to be quick," I smile getting up. After agreeing that enchiladas would be nice I quickly rustle up a bunch and pop them in the oven, it didn't matter much how many I made because I knew Luke would have some later and Michael eats everything in sight.

I also send Luke a message telling him that my grandparents are here early and they don't know I have a boyfriend so act normal.

Moments later the bell rings.

I try to get to the door before my grandma but she beats me to it opening the door to Luke.

Fuck.

"Who are you?" my grandma says looking up at him with a stern face.

I can tell that Luke hasn't seen my message from the look of surprise on his face.

"I'm Luke, Olivia's boyfriend. You must be Olivia's lovely grandma..." he says, reaching a hand out for her to shake.

I bite my lip hoping this will go better than I imagine.

My grandma turns to look at me, "you didn't tell me you have a boyfriend!" she has a smile on her face but doesn't seem to have reached her eyes.

I put a hand through my hair, "I was going to, the foods ready, Luke do you want enchiladas?" I say giving him a look as if to say help me.

"I'd love to" he chuckles coming in and giving me a comforting side hug to try and calm me down. He knew my fear of them trying to force me into going to England for college so he knew to try and dodge the subject if it got brought up.

When we go into the dining room Michael has set the table and he and my grandpa are chatting about old school music.

"Grandpa, this is my boyfriend Luke..." I say awkwardly standing with luke.

"Boyfriend? Has he been vetted?" my grandpa jokes. He tends to be more relaxed about these things.

"Oh yes had the full 20 questions from Brian" Luke smiles sitting down next to Michael.

"I like this one." my grandpa says as I walk in with the food.

"I do too" I grin putting the food down on the table for everyone to grab. I sit next to Luke and he puts an arm around my waist to keep me calm.

My grandma stays quiet for most of the dinner so it all goes well but then grandpa brings up collages...

"So Luke, you seem like a smart guy, what are you thinking of doing at college?"

"Oh thank you, I'm not as smart as Liv though," he says looking at me making me smile, "I'm thinking either biochem or maths" he smiles back up at them.

"What about you Oliva?"

"I'm thinking psychology, or business or maybe something like biochem but I'm not sure, I like everything so it's hard to choose." I shrug looking back at my food.

"Are you still thinking about whether to come to the UK?"

"It's in my head but I think both my favourites over here have a programme where you can go to the UK for a year so I might prefer that," I smile feeling like it's going well.

My grandma clears her throat, "so would you two do long distance if you were to come to the UK at all?"

why did she have to bring that up...

I look at Luke, he looks back at me. We hadn't really talked about the idea of me possibly going to the UK and what we would do if I went. He knew I was thinking about it but we didn't like talking about the what-ifs.

"I think we would try it, I wouldn't want her to give up the experience just because of me," Luke says, looking over at my grandma.

I look up at him surprised at his response but it's probably what I would have said too.

"Well you seem to make each other happy, and that's all I want for Olivia," my grandma says finally smiling at us. "You said you have someone coming over to study darling so we'll leave you to it." she continues getting up from the table, "is it tomorrow that you finished with exams? We can all go out for dinner with your dad and Sophia?"

Michael nodded, "yeah, sounds great mum will love to see you" he smiles, getting up to show the pair out while I finished eating.

I didn't know what to say to Luke. I knew I couldn't avoid the topic for much longer though.

"So... chemistry?" He says getting up to clear the dishes for me.

I walk behind him into the kitchen, "Yes... chemistry, wanna do it down here or in my Room?" I smile ignoring the nagging feeling that I need to talk to him about what just happened.

"I think we both know we won't get anything done if we go upstairs," he chuckles, wrapping his arms around my waist.

I can't help but giggle, "would that give you encouragement to focus?" I smirk, leaning up to kiss him.

"Shall we say every question I get right I get a kiss?" He says, kissing down my neck.

I bite my lip so I don't let a moan sneak out, "we'll see..." I smirk pulling his head up so I can kiss him probably, "we do need to get work done tho..."

He chuckles, "fine... but after?" He smirks holding me close.

I giggled, "yes dumb ass, let's go study please..." I smiled, pulling him through to the living room where my chemistry books were. He follows without letting go of my hips. When we sit down he pulls me onto his lap. "You're very clingy tonight" I giggled while leaning on him.

He chuckled, kissing my head, "I know," he says, picking up one of the chemistry books. "so what's the chemical reaction that happens between..." he starts talking and I have to tear my eyes away from him so I can actually focus on revising. We both had to do well on this exam otherwise we wouldn't be able to do the subjects we wanted at college.
