I woke up surprisingly before my alarm, which is somewhat nice. Something about being woken up by a loud irritating noise just doesn't get me excited about my day. I roll over and look at the time, 6:57. I take a sip of water before rolling out of bed and getting ready for school. I grab an apple and a granola bar on my way out, shoving them into my bag whilst shouting a quick goodbye to my mom. Before Nick came back I didn't have to worry about anyone finding out, so now I have to be more careful. If I don't eat at school it makes me look suspicious, so I just figured it would be better if I grabbed something small and low calorie but still something that's considered normal food.
Once I arrive at school I go to my locker and start grabbing my books. Suddenly my vision is blocked, someone's hands covering my eyes and their body uncomfortably close to mine.
"Guess who." They whispered directly into my ear, their tone dropped from their usual voice but it didn't stop me from recognizing who it was.
"Nick you idiot, talking gives it away." I said whilst turning around to face him.
"Aw shit, well I tried." He chuckled. "Aight well I'll see you around Jules." I watched him walk away, before grabbing my books and shutting my locker and making my way to first period.Soon enough, lunch rolled round and I grabbed my apple before heading to the cafeteria. Do I want to eat it? Of course not, but now I have Nick worrying about me so hopefully this'll get him off my ass. I sat down at Nick and I's usual table greeting him as per usual. He seemed surprised that I was eating, but he didn't comment on it which i'm grateful for.
"What do you have next period?" He asked whilst rolling up his cheeseburger wrapper. This guy eats so much McDonalds what the fuck.
"I got history, and so do you." I told him, reminding him in an attempt to have him attend on time for once.
"Oh yeah." He said, realisation hitting him. After that we just kinda ate in silence, but it was comfortable. I ate about half my apple before deciding I had had enough. I got up and went to put what was left of my apple in the bin, trying to showcase it in a way that made it look like it was eaten. Unfortunately for me, Ellie and Amelia just had to accompany me at the trash bin.
"You're like fat, so why do you even eat lunch? Like there's literally so much fat on you that you could eat yourself for a whole year and you'd still have left over fat. So why are you putting in shitty attempts at being healthy? It's not gonna change anything." Ellie said, growing irritated that I was laughing at her shit insult.
"Yeah, thanks for the advice Ellie." I said through my laughs and walked back to my table. Her insult was funny, true but still very funny. Right as my ass touched the seat, the bell rang and I groaned. Of course it just had to be right when I sat down. I said goodbye to Nick before grabbing my books and heading to class.
The rest of my classes were uneventful and all in all quite boring. I actually had a conversation with the voice, discussing different excuses that could be used to get out of eating. My walk home was just as boring as my day, listening to arctic monkeys as I speed walk home. However my walk home was no longer uneventful, as Nick ran up alongside me on the path.
"Hey stranger." He said smiling. To say I was confused would be an understatement. What was he doing walking around.
"Uh hi?" His face changed to a look of confusion at my words.
"Not happy to see me?" He joked, nudging me whilst trying to look hurt and sad but failed and burst into laughter. His laughter was contagious, causing me to burst into my own fit of giggles almost instantly whilst nearly tripping over my own feet. We soon calmed down and fell into our own bubble of silence, but it wasn't weird. After a minute or two, I handed him one of my airpods and we just walked to my house in peace~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
