Julia's POV

Nick's driving me to my appointment with Dr. Madison. I'm very nervous, about opening up to someone like this. I'm not even sure if I'll feel comfortable with her. I can only hope for the best.

We arrive at a tall, modern-looking building. Nick gives me a whole speech before I go in, saying not to feel pressured and if I'm uncomfortable to just come back. I told him that I wasn't ready to open up about my eating habits with a professional, just wanting to get some help with what happened the other week. I hop out with my purse and walk to the entrance, pulling open the door.

"Hi, I have an appointment at 1 p.m. with Dr. Madison." I say to the sweet lady behind the reception desk. She nodded at me to show she understood and started typing on the computer.

"For Julia?" She asked.

"Yes." I confirmed.
"Awesome Julia, she'll be with you shortly." She told me. I nodded and said a quick thank you and went to take a seat. It was modern inside too, but had a very homely and welcoming vibe to it. Comfy couches, lots of pillows, throw blankets, bean bags, and some colouring books. This is a lot less intimidating than a Doctor's Clinic.

"Julia?" I hear my name called out. Fuck yeah, it's faster than a doctor's clinic too. I stand up and walk over to Madison, who doesn't look much different from the picture I saw of her. She has long brown hair, down to her mid-back. She has dark brown eyes, her face dotted with freckles.

"Hi! My name is Madison." She introduced herself.

"Julia," I said my name, even though she already knew.
"Alrighty Julia, I'll bring you over to a room and we can get started!" She said beginning to walk, with me nodding and following behind her. She swiped a keycard to get through multiple doors before we went into a room and she shut the door behind me.

"Take a seat, get comfy!" She said. Looking around the room it still had the same vibe as the lobby. 2 soft, comfortable couches facing each other, lots of pillows, and some stuff to fidget with sitting on a table in the middle. I sat down on one of the couches, Madison sitting on the one across from me.

"Now we can take our sessions at whatever pace is comfortable for you Julia. A lot of people like to use their first session to just get to know each other a bit, establish some goals, and just see if we're a good fit overall. Other people like to jump straight to the point, explaining their issues and what they would like to change. What do you feel comfortable doing?" She asked me. I thought about it for a bit. I wouldn't mind a bit of both, we have an hour for our session.

"I'm happy to do a bit of both. The first half getting to know each other a bit, the second half setting goals and talking about why I'm here." I said. "Is that OK?"

"Of course! There's no right or wrong way to do this, only your own way." She said. "Alrighty Julia, why don't tell me a little bit about your likes, your dislikes and your hobbies to start with." She offered.

"Well, I like nature, especially walking through it. I love the smell and the wind and the rain. I have a couple of plants at home that I look after." I started. "I like animals too, I've always wanted a cat or a dog growing up but my family were never in a position to look after one as my parents were always working a lot. I don't really like being social, I don't have a lot of friends. People are very judgemental these days so I don't really bother putting myself in a situation that I don't want to be in. I don't like school, it feels like a waste of time to me but I'm also unsure of what I want to do for my career." I continued, telling her small details about my personality. She was writing notes on her iPad, glancing up in between and listening intently. "As for my hobbies, I don't really have time for hobbies. I like to walk and run?" I say, unsure of whether that counts. Hell, my calorie counting is a hobby, but it's not like I was gonna tell her about that, that's not why I'm here.
