julia's pov <3
Walking down the stairs, my hand laced with Nick's, his scent surrounding me, and his hoodie swallowing me, protecting me from the stare I'll receive after I eat. I prefer wearing clothes that cover me, that way people don't have to see how fat I am, or how bloated I get after eating. Luckily for me, it's starting to get cold, so I can rug myself up without any questions. It feels good to have Nick around again. He's always been a comfort point for me, and he knew me better than anyone else so he always knew what I needed. He looks tired this morning, I don't think he slept well either.
I try not to sleep now, the flashbacks of Heath and Sam never fail to show up, so I delay sleep as much as I can. I was up late reading a book, trying to distract myself but eventually, I passed out and relived it once again.I sit back up on the benchtop, despite my mum telling me numerous times not to. I make sure to sit as close to the edge as I can, making sure to avoid making my legs look any bigger than they are by having them squashed on the counter, instead, having them dangle. Nick starts pulling things out to prepare breakfast. Today is my last day before I have to make any big changes to my diet, so I should use today to research what I can do.
He's got a recipe up on his phone apparently, meaning he isn't making pancakes like I presumed he would be. I tried to sneak a glance but he just moved the phone out of my field of view and told me it was a surprise.
He grabbed milk, bread, eggs, cinnamon and most scarcely; maple syrup. God, what is he doing to me? I start snapping my hair tie on my wrist, my brain going into autopilot calculating the calories. I got off the counter discreetly, quickly snatching his phone when he wasn't looking and jogged away, having a look. Sweet french toast? I scrolled down to have a look at the calories and fuck that shit is a lot. I looked up to see he was running at me at full speed, so I quickly shoved his phone into the waistband of my shorts and picked up a pillow in self-defence.
"Hey! I need the phone Jules to make the food." He said looking at me with his hands on his hips. I just swing the pillow into the air, declaring the war of our pillow fight. He understood the assignment, picking up the nearest pillow. To my disappointment, he picked up the biggest pillow we own. Fuck.
He started charging at me, with the pillow raised above his head, and I took this opportunity to wack him in the stomach. He seemed unfazed, and smacked his pillow straight onto the top of my head, then again to my arm. I whacked him back on his leg with my own and he smacked my pillow out of my hands. I tried to reach out to grab it but he was faster, pulling me towards him with his free hand, grabbing my hands and holding them around my wrists behind my back. We were face to face, him leaning down to reach my level."Give it to me." He said.
"I have no idea what you're talking about" I replied smirking.
"Where is it?" He demanded.
"Again I don't know what you're talking about." I continued my dumb act, probably having the widest smirk on my face. He brought his lips down to my neck, hovering an inch away from my skin right below my ear and my smirk fell as soon as I felt his breath hit my skin. I swear he knows that's my sweet spot.
"If you don't tell me where it is I will search every inch of your body until I find it," He said lowly, gripping my wrists tighter. I knew he was kidding but fuck me was that hot. I ignored the flutter in my stomach and the way I squeezed my thighs together absentmindedly. "I'll tell you one more time. Give. it. to. me." he said, placing a kiss on my neck in between each word. Fuck me, I started this game now I'm a big pile of losing jello. I was hoping he didn't pick up on the way my breath hitched each time he kissed my neck, the way my eyes fluttered shut at the contact, or the way my neck unconsciously leaned into him.
