Aragorn's little sister

Prologue

Diana sat on her bed in Mirkwood, waiting for her brother. He would usually pick her up around this time after their year apart. She sighed, and unsheathed the dagger that Legolas had given her when she completed her combat training at 10 years old. 

Engraved on the sheath in elven it read, "You'll grow to be an amazing warrior." She heard the door open and Legolas ran into the room. "Aragorn and Gandalf are here. It's an urgent matter from what they say!" he said breathlessly. 

Diana shot up, sheathing her dagger. She ran with Legolas to the entrance hall and saw her brother there with Gandalf a disturbed look on both of their faces. 

They came to a stop next to the pair, breathless. "What's going on? What's so urgent?" Diana asked. "I need you both to do something for me." Gandalf started. The two siblings looked at each other, before nodding.

"The one Ring has been found and is on the move." Gandalf continued "Who's the carrier?" Aragorn asked. "A hobbit, by the name of Bilbo Baggins." Gandalf answered.

Aragorn looked at Gandalf, troubled. "Do not question the bravery of Hobbits. For I have seen amazing courage in them." Gandalf said before continuing "He is being pursued by Ringwraiths, the Nazgul. " 

Aragorn cursed aloud and Legolas handed Diana her weapons. She strapped them on as she listened to Gandalf  "I need you two to help him to Rivendell. He will arrive at Bree at the Prancing Pony. I must visit with Saruman." Gandalf said and walked away before turning around "He will call himself Underhill. I will meet you on the road to Rivendell." 

With that he left Mirkwood on his horse. Diana whistled for her horse, given to her by King Thranduil.

"We must hurry to Bree. Let us hope that Frodo trusts us." Aragorn nodded in agreement at his sisters words and they started on their journey to Bree.
