Silence was an eerie thing to hear before a battle. No one dared to speak a word as the orc army approached. Night had fallen and grey clouds covered the sky. All they could see in front of them was the enemy and their distant torches.

The elves stood along the wall of the keep and in the Hornburg while Theoden's men were packed in the keep.

"Diana." I heard Legolas say. I looked up at him curiously, but before I could say anything, his lips crashed to mine. It lasted only a few seconds before he pulled away. "Stay safe." he whispered and I nodded. "I promise." I replied back.

"You could have picked a better spot!" huffed Gimli, who's eye level was to the wall. Aragorn soon joined us, though his post was with the elves.

"Well, lad, whatever hope you live by, let's hope it lasts the night." Gimli grumbled. A flash of lightning filled the air along with the cracking of thunder.

"Your friends are with you, Aragorn." Legolas assured him.

"And his sister. Don't forget his sister." I added.

"Let us hope they, last the night." Gimly added solemnly, his attempt at a joke not helping the overall feeling of dread.

Another flash of lightning and roar of thunder shot through the sky. A light shower of rain started slowly before it quickly became a downpour. The sound of rain beating down on armor mixed with the sound of marching.

There was nothing we could do, we had to endure the rain. We were scared, trapped, outnumbered, and now frozen to the bone, our clothes soaked through and weighing down on us.

By now, the army was close enough for everybody to see properly. We could see every ugly Urak-Hai advancing, with their huge pikes raised.

"Show them no mercy for you shall receive none!" Aragorn yelled to the Lothlorien soldiers on the wall.

The army suddenly stopped, just in front of the fortress. They snarled and roared at us, making me want to start the fight already.

"What's happening out there?" Gimli asked irritability, trying to look over the edge of the wall by jumping.

"Shall I describe it to you? Or would you like me to find you a box?" Legolas smirked down at the dwarf who laughed manically at his comment as Diana gave her silvery laugh. Legolas smiled down at her and she returned the smile.

The Uruks started to beat their pikes down on the ground loudly, sending fear into the hearts of the Rohan soldiers. They beat their shields and flailed their swords into the air.

The archers in the keep readied their bows, nocking their arrows. Suddenly there was a single arrow in the air, and we watched as one of the Uruks at the very front dropped dead on the floor.

"Hold!" Aragorn yelled to whoever it was that had released the arrow.

The beating of the pikes ceased and a momentary silence fell over everybody before the roars of the Uruk-Hai filled the air.

It was after the Uruks started to roar that they attacked, their pikes flailing in the air.

"Prepare to fire!" Aragorn bellowed

Diana, Legolas, and all of the Lothlorien elves on the wall drew their bows and nocked their arrows.

"Their armor is weak at the neck...and beneath the arm." Legolas told them quietly as they aimed down at the oncoming storm of Uruks

"Release arrows!" Aragorn yelled.

Following her brother's orders, Diana let her arrow fly and watched as it joined the hundreds of other arrows descending on their enemy. "Did they hit anything?" Gimli asked frantically, eager to join in on the battle.
