The tree of Gondor that stood in the courtyard was back in full bloom.
Crowds upon crowds of people stood in the courtyard to watch as Aragorn became king, and Diana became the crowned princess, were anything to happen to Aragorn, she would be queen.
Diana was able to put her hair up in a braided ponytail. Simple, yet it suited her with her short hair. She was wearing a long purple coronation dress that had gold patterns sewn in.
Gandalf placed a golden crown on her head before placing a silver crown on Aragorn's head.
"Now come the days of the king and crowned princess." Gandalf's voice echoed for all to hear. "May, they be blessed."
Aragorn and Gandalf exchanged a small smile before Gandalf's eyes flicked to Diana.
"No matter how short they may be." Gandalf whispered before stepping back.
Together, hand in hand, Aragorn and Diana stood up, turning to face the crowd.
When they did, the crowd cheered as one, for their king and princess had returned.
"This day does not belong to one man, but to all." Aragorn spoke as the crowd silenced. "Let us together rebuild this world that we may share in the days of peace."
The crowd clapped again at Aragorn's words, and that was when blossoms from the tree started to fall.
I am come.
In this place I will abide
And my heirs
Unto the ending of the world
Aragorn's and Diana's voices were harmonious as they sung together in Elvish.
Everyone who was present was awed by the two siblings.
As they walked, people bowed at them.
Diana smiled, seeing Eowyn and Faramir, Boromir's younger brother together. Eowyn looked much happier than when she was chasing after Aragorn, a smile gracing her features.
Diana was a blushing mess when Legolas walked forward, leading the elves. He was wearing a silver tunic, along with a silver coronet, his hair unbraided.
Aragorn rolled his eyes at his sister, pushing her forward slightly so that she was now facing Legolas, one on one.
Legolas had a smile watching the girl, quickly leaning down, his hands wrapping gently around her throat as his lips fell upon hers.
Diana quickly placed her hands around his neck, kissing him back before pulling away after a few moments, a bigger smile gracing her lips as she joined Legolas's side.
Aragorn smiled at the two, placing his hand on his friend's shoulder.
"Thank you."
In response, Legolas moved to the side, allowing him to lock eyes on Arwen, who was holding onto the banner of the elves.
Slowly, Aragorn walked forward. Arwen hesitantly bowed as Aragorn took the banner out of her hands, passing it to a stranger in the crowds.
He lifted Arwen's chin up so that she was looking at him. Without hesitation, Aragorn leaned down, kissing her passionately as he twirled her around.
The crowd cheered for the two, and as they did, Legolas intertwined his fingers into Diana's. Diana leaned into his form, and the four continued their path until they reached the Hobbits.
Hesitantly, the Hobbits started to bow.
"My friends." Aragorn stopped them. "You bow to no one."
As soon as he knealed down, the crowd followed suit.
The hobbits were their reason for survival.
---
Celebrations lasted longer than expected.
Diana couldn't blame the people. They were happy. They had gotten the king they'd deserved for so long. The darkness was over.
Legolas led Diana out onto a balcony.
Diana took a deep breath, leaning against the railing, a content smile on her face.
Legolas watched as the moonlight danced across her face, making her features more bright. When she glanced at him, Legolas gave her a nervous smile.
Deciding it was nothing, Diana turned around, focusing on the night sky, with the gentle breeze that made her hair fly around slightly.
"The night sky is beautiful tonight, isn't it?" Diana commented.
"Yes, but it's not as pretty as you." Legolas answered.
Diana blushed at his words, the moonlit sky not helping at all to hide it.
"Okay, people are probably expect -"
Diana cut her words short as she turned around, seeing Legolas on one knee, an opened black velvet box that held a silver and purple engagement ring in his hands.
"Diana, daughter of Arathorn II and Gilraen, I've practically grown up with you."
Diana's hand flew to her mouth as Legolas started to talk.
"I slowly started to fall in love with you, and I couldn't have been happier when we started dating. There were times when I thought I almost lost you. Forever isn't a long time for elves, but I want my forever to be spent with you. I love you, Diana. Will you marry me?"
Diana let out a happy sob, nodding her head. "Yes!"
Legolas happily stood up, placing the ring on her finger and holding her as she jumped up, wrapping her legs around his waist, kissing him passionately.
Legolas's hand went in her hair, her hands tracing his jaw until they pulled back, staring lovingly into each other's eyes.
Legolas let her feet gently touch the floor, the two smiling as they walked back into the throne room where the Fellowship was.
Aragorn was the first to notice them, noticing the light shine off the ring that was now on his sister's finger.
Aragorn smiled proudly, tears appearing in his eyes.
"Diana!" Merry and Pippin cheered. "Did you say yes?"
"You knew?" Diana exclaimed. "And you kept it from me? You rascals!" Diana teased the Hobbits before showing them the ring that sat on her finger.
When the hobbits moved to talk to Legolas, Diana made her way to her brother, who wrapped his arm around her shoulders, giving her a side hug.
"Did you know too?"
"Who do you think Legolas asked for the blessing?"
"Aragorn!"
"I'm proud of you, little sister."
