They had arrived at Bree as soon as the sun began to set, riding hard in the horizon, their hoods up. When they got to the village of Bree, they let their horses go. Aragorn led the way to the inn, where the sing 'The Prancing Pony' swung in the wind. Rain began to fall, sprinkling their cloaks with the dark, wet drops.

Barliman gave them a cautious look as he kept away from them. Aragorn led the way to a table in the corner. By that time the rain had become a deluge. He glanced out the window while Diana kept her gaze on the door.

Suddenly the door opened and four drenched hobbits stumbled in. She sunk back into the darkness of her hood. There was a dark haired hobbit with grey blue eyes that called himself "Mr. Underhill"

"Frodo Baggins." Diana whispered under her breath. The four hobbits settled down at a table. "Sam, Merry, and Pippin." Aragorn whispered in her ear.

The bar was loud as the hobbits settled into their food and drinks. "Those two people have done nothing, but stare at you since we've arrived." Sam said, pointing at them with a chicken leg. Frodo looked over towards the table as Aragorn lit a pipe. Frodo politely stopped Barliman, but the two siblings could hear his voice even over the roaring noise of the room.

"That man and woman in the corner. Who are they?"

"They're two of the rangers," Barliman replied quietly, "Dangerous folk they are, roaming the wild. I've never heard of their true names, but the man is known as Strider and the girl, Artemis." he hurried off glancing nervously at the two.

Frodo murmured their names as he played with something in his hands and seemed to go into a trance.

"Baggins? Sure, I know a Baggins." I mentally cursed as I stood up "I've got this. You get Frodo." Diana whispered to her brother and he nodded. "He's over there, Frodo Baggins," Diana felt Frodo push by her. She tried to stop him, but he was already out of her grasp.

The hobbit tried to grab his friend, but slipped backwards, falling. She could clearly see the ring fly upwards and into the air. In her peripheral vision she could see her brother sit up, alert and watching, about to move. Diana watched in panic as the ring fell right onto Frodo's finger, and he disappeared.

Gasps and cries filled the room and Aragorn made his way, as if he was following somebody. She removed her hood letting her hair fall. "Gentlemen, whatever's the matter?" she asked, sweetly while flashing them a sweet and charming smile at them, batting her eyelashes.

"The hobbit disappeared right into thin air!" out of the corner of her eye she could see Aragorn grab Frodo.

"Oh gentlemen! You must have had a drink to much, my fiance just needed to talk to my nephew about something." she carelessly waved a hand at Frodo. Laughs filled the air as Arargorn took Frodo with him, slipping away unnoticed.

"Fiance, eh? When you getting married?" his hands were inching forward, too  close for her liking. She shyly looked down, blushing. "Next week. And he can be so overprotective."

"Which is why I'm sorry I have to do this." she added as she saw the other three hobbits chase after her brother.

She slammed a drink on the man who had gotten to close for comfort before grabbing another slamming him into the bar. The fight continued for a little while before all of the men were piled in a corner, groaning.

Diana raced upstairs and entered the room they were in. "You can no longer wait for the wizard, Frodo. They are coming." Aragorn said.

"Where is the other ranger?" Frodo asked suspiciously "Would her presence  soothe you?"  Aragorn asked. "Far more then you, Strider!" Sam spat out still brandishing the candlestick he was holding.

"Well then let my presence soothe you. You can take rest, we'll keep you safe until we get to our destination." Diana said softly, letting a soft smile grace her features.

She sat on the heels of her feet. "You can trust us." she placed her hand on Frodo's cheek and the hobbits slowly relaxed. Aragorn shook his head at her, smiling slightly.
