Lucas stopped her just feet before they reached the driver and turned her to look at him after he heard the soft sniffle.

"Baby..." he spoke quietly as he tilted her head so she looked at him "what's wrong?"

Did she regret being with him?

"I... he.... Peter called me his daughter!"

"Oh baby..." relief "you have so many people who love you.... and he's just another one. One that I have to watch out for!"

She started to giggle at the expression on Lucas' face.

"Laugh all you want young lady but I think he'd have my bal... legs... legs if I don't have you home in one piece."

"He's very protective of Ke.."

"Theyre close" Lucas nodded with a smile.

"He's the perfect father. The way he stood by Ke.."

Lucas started to lead her to the limo again and helped her inside before walking to the other side himself.

"Seatbelt baby."

She blushed. She wasn't thinking when she sat waiting. Well she wasn't thinking about a damn seatbelt that was sure! She reached up to the side of her and as she pulled the seatbelt from its retractable hiding spot she felt Lucas move beside her.

"Here, let me help."

His hand reached over her and enclosed her hand and she turned to him to let him know she was all right when she found his face was just a few centimetres away from hers.

Their eyes held each others when Lucas whispered.

"Beautiful"

She dropped her eyes to look at his chest and again she blushed while biting her bottom lip.

She felt him getting closer and raised her eyes quickly to see his close as his mouth gently touched hers. His hand realeased hers and moved to cup her face and his lips teased hers. Her own eyes shuttered closed as the warmth of his touch flooded over her.

He wanted to deepen the kiss so badly but held himself back. He didn't want to rush her and just having her accept this touch was more than he expected. He felt like a king.... like he owned a magnificent castle and he'd rescued the damsel in distress and was rewarded with a kiss.

Was this happening?

She couldn't believe that she was being kissed by Lucas. She knew he wanted to but after the time when he left her... did this mean he would leave her again?

She started to panic. She found it hard to breathe and started to pull away.

His soft moan of regret that their kiss was ending filled the back of the limosene. He wanted the kiss to go on forever but feeling her pull away he had to let go.

He looked down in her eyes and wondered what she was thinking. Her eyes were filled with something he didn't understand. Maybe he could... no... he wouldn't force her to talk right now. He just had to hope she didn't regret kissing him back.

His voice was deep and husky when he spoke again.

"I hope you let me do that again later baby."

He moved back and resumed the task of putting on her seatbelt before doing his own. Reaching over he flicked a switch.

"Let's go."

The limo's engine came to life amd Lucas reached over and took her hand and raised it to his lips as he looked at her in the dim light and winked at her.

She smiled at him and he felt the world come to a stand still. He was captivated by the intense almost truth like feelings that came from that smile.

They talked about trivial things for the rest of their journey. Almost an hour later they arrived at a wharf. Most businesses in the area were in darkness apart from strategicically placed security lights.

Lucas helped her out of the limo and she looked around wondering why on earth they were here. She looked up at him and he smirked down at her.

"Trust me" he said with confidence as he led her along the path in front of the buildings.

They stopped in front of a door that read 'Closed' while the front of the buiding looked to be in complete darkness and with her eyebrow raised she watched as Lucas turned the handle and pushed the door open.

She gasped as Lucas led her through the doorway. The room they'd walked into was lined with flickering candles. Tables had been moved to the edge of the room with one single table left in the middle.

An elderly gentleman walked through a door that led to the kitchen behind the main area. He smiled at them both.

"Mr and Mrs Porter. Welcome. Please.." he motioned to the table and pulled out a chair as Lucas led her forward.

"Everything is ready Mr Porter."

Lucas nodded and thanked the man before taking his seat. He watched as Tara surveyed the room and saw the light dawning on her. The room had been set up in typical restaurant fashion... but wasn't.

She looked at the beautiful table in front of them. A crisp white cloth covered it and a candle sat flickering in the middle with pink rose petals scattered around it. She looked again around the room and then to the dress she was wearing. Her beautiful blue satin dress that overlayed with lace was definitely out of place in this room.

The gentleman was back and sat plates in front of them and Lucas waited while trying not to grin too widely.

Tara started to laugh and put her hands to her mouth as she looked at him in disbelief while shaking her head.

They were in a small cafe at a wharf so what would you be eating? Fish and chips of course.
