"That is a lot of murders."
"Oh you'll be fine, don't be a wuss about it."
Sam groaned, banging his head against his desk repeatedly. He had decided to conduct some research about Beacon Hills before he went to his first day at the school but all he came up with was murders, unsolved cases, arson, and a missing girl running around naked. Talk about wild.
"At least they can't harm you. I'm the one in danger here" He commented as he gave Alex a look and continued searching.
Alex just continued to look at her black nail polish that had magically appeared on her hands that morning. Sam didn't know how she did it, but one day she could be sporting her natural hair color, a wild red, and the next it could be midnight black.
Currently, she had her natural color put into a ponytail. She could make clothes just appear, but he couldn't touch them; just like her. Perks of being somewhat of a ghost, he guessed.
He was used to it though, so he just kept on typing.
"Sam, honey, you're going to be late for school!" Maria called out to her son as she rushed around the kitchen searching for her keys.
"Coming mum!" He shouted back to her as he quickly grabbed his backpack off his bed and rushed downstairs; Alex in pursuit. She could walk through walls and floors but she had previously stated she preferred not to.
By this time Maria had found her keys and was waiting for him, Luna in the car. They both had found jobs at Beacon Memorial Hospital, with Maria as a surgeon and Luna as a pediatrician.
"You take your meds?" She gave him a pointed glance.
He rolled his eyes and smiled at her. "Yes mum, now don't worry about me. It's your guy's first day on the job."
"It's your first day of school."
Sam checked his watch and realized there was barely enough time to get to the bus, let alone eat. He sighed as he kissed Maria on the cheek before opening the door and jogging down the sidewalk. "Remember, one more pill at lunchtime. Call us if anything is wrong!"
He gave a thumbs-up as he continued jogging. "Love you and tell mom I love her too! I'll see you this evening!" He called as he got further away from his house.
He usually called Maria mum, as she was originally from Australia and he called Luna mom, just to make it easier on them all.
Sam ran down the road as fast as he could, which honestly wasn't fast as he was out of shape. For the past five weeks, up until three days ago, he had been in what he called his 'moods', also known as a depressive episode.
It was the second-longest one yet, (the longest had been his very first one before he had been diagnosed with bipolar disorder) which worried his parents, but at least he had recovered before it was his first day at his new school.
"Oh thank god." He wheezed as he stopped right in front of the entrance to the bus. The driver looked down at him as he held up a hand as he bent over to catch a breath, trying to signal that he was okay.
Alex giggled next to him, looking like she didn't even break a sweat. He would have loved to blame it on the fact that she was a ghost but she had told him firsthand what she could and couldn't do.
She was somewhat human, other than the fact that nobody else could see her and that she could pass through anything when she wanted to. Nothing could touch her, but she had the stamina of a normal person which meant when running she would eventually get tired. She could also make things appear in the air that only she could touch, like pens, or clothes, or blankets.
