It was definitely a horrible idea - Sam thought as he watched Isaac beat up three guys in the locker room so that Stiles, Scott, and he could have tickets to the Rave.
He generally wasn't into doing illegal stuff, but the thought of the plot to take Kanima/Jackson down felt sort of thrilling to him. Like he was in a book, and the main event was nearing.
But he needed a way to please his parents while simultaneously learning to control his powers. Especially if Garrett was going to be around for a while, a tour of the town and making a few friends other than his parent's friend's son would be good for him. He already felt so bad for missing most of the tour today and hoped that the boy's opinion of him wouldn't change because of it.
The second Scott and Stiles walked out the locker room door with their new (covered in a few minor drops of blood) tickets - Sam stopped Isaac from leaving; the beta looked down on him with annoyance.
"I need a favor,"
"No."
"Please! It's important."
"What do you want?"
Sam took a deep breath before starting. "Derek and I are training today after school, before the Rave, so that I can control my power, but..." He paused as he let Isaac take in the new news, but his face remained unchanged. "But, my parents said I have to show this person coming to the school next week around, and I couldn't say no."
"And?"
"And I thought maybe you could watch over him? Just for a few hours."
Isaac snorted as he crossed his arms. "I'm not babysitting."
"You guys are the same age! Maybe you can actually make some genuine friends, other than a man in his mid-twenties that bit you."
"What would I have to do?"
Sam rubbed the back of his neck as he tried to rack up some idea. "I don't know; take him out on a date or something." At Isaac's livid expression, he shrugged, trying to form words. "Or don't. But I won't involve him in this supernatural business, not yet. I'll make up an excuse, but could you please have something nice planned?"
Isaac huffed, looking at him apprehensively before walking towards the door and shoving the Rave ticket into his hand.
"I get to borrow Derek's car." The boy shouted in his retreat.
"Is that- is that a yes?!"

Sam opened the door to his house, anxiety bubbling in his chest. Garrett stood there, beanie on his head, as he smiled warmly. It was a bit strange to see him without his police trainee uniform. Instead, he wore a flannel jacket over a gray hoodie.
"Oh, um, come in."
Garrett stepped into the house as Sam closed the door behind him, pulling out his phone to see if Isaac had texted. The awkward silence brewing in the foyer was interrupted as both boys heard an engine revving outside.
The dirty-blond boy pulled open the door, seeing Isaac grinning as he stuck his head out of the window that belonged to a black, sleek, Chevy Camaro. Derek was so going to be pissed.
"That's our ride!" Sam grinned as he walked down the stairs, climbing into the backseat as Garrett followed. When Isaac turned around to look at both of them, he seemed to color slightly at the sight of the dark-haired boy. Maybe he was shy.
Sam could feel the nerves building in his chest as the car broke off from the curb. He felt as if he were betraying his friends. Conspiring with the enemy, or whatever Derek's pack was to them. And Stiles; he shoved every memory of that mistake kiss to the back of his mind.
