Chapter 38: Starting Lane

Ross POV:

I walk into school with Austin. We're actually doing some catching up. It's been a real long time since we've actually talked.

"So how about Laura?" He smirks out. "Well I'm trying my best to get her back and this time, I'm not letting go." I say.

Austin's eyes widen as he smiles and gives a slow clap.

I chuckle as I say "What?" "You finally know what's worth fighting for" he replies.

The bell just rang.

It's lunch and I am starving!

I was nearly late for school so I didn't get to have breakfast.

I was walking to cafeteria as I see Justin and the crew coming up to me.

"Yo Ross...let's go for some lunch and maybe hit up for some dessert later!" Cody says while looking at a girl passing by.

"I'll pass...I have plans with Calum" I reply.

Justin rolls his eyes as he says "Forget it, have fun with clown kid"

After a few seconds they all just walk away.

I texted Calum to meet me by the water fountain.

I'm really tired of all Justin's bull shit. I need real friends.

Trust me he's nothing like one.

I was walking near the water fountain as I see Laura.

"Laur! Hey" I say. "Uh...hi" she stutters.

"So what's up 7up?" I smirk out. "I don't know life I guess..." She blankly says.

I was mind blocked for a few seconds till I offer "So wanna grab some lunch with me n Calum?"

"Nah I have plans..." She again says blankly and walks away.

She's probably in a bad mood.

I see Calum walking by as I wave to him.

It's chemistry class and me and Laura are beside each other. I somehow tried to get a good convo but I couldn't.

"Are substitute isn't even that great..." I laughed out. "Ok..." She says.

"So doing anything later?" I ask. "Just chill probably" she says.

"Oh so wanna hang at Miami park?" I say. "Can you just listen to our sub because he's giving out final reminders before the class ends..." She shot.

I shake my head in confusion.

One moment we're kissing the next you know we aren't even talking.

What the actual fuck.

The bell rings as I follow Laura outside.

"Laur! I yelled" but she didn't look back .

I was determined to talk to her so I grabbed her risk.

She turned around "WHAT DO YOU WANT NOW?" She exclaims.

"Why are you acting this way!?" I shot back.

"Look. I don't need your bullshit right now Ross. We're not even friends, we're acquaintances." She said with a sarcastic smile.

"THEN HOW DO YOU EXPLAIN OUR LAST LIL MOMENT?" I exclaimed.

"I-WE WERE DRUNK. EVERYTHING THAT HAPPENED DOESNT EVEN MATTER!" She says as she pushes me and walks away.

"Get over yourself Ross" she says as she fades in the hall way.

Well bull fucking shit.

He am I again back to the starting lane.
