Chapter Nine

The darkness started to set in as night rolled in, we sat there in silence as I closed my eyes warming my entire body. He had fallen asleep with me in his grasp, and I decided to get up, I slipped away and heard him grumble, but he didn't wake up, I walked around pinching the wicks of the candles lighting them, now the rooms becoming illuminated I did the one next to him seeing him leaned into the couch, I sighed, it was smart to stay out here where the fire could keep us warm, I walked to the bedroom he entered when we first arrived, I opened the closet and found blankets and pillows, I grabbed everything I could and brought them out placing them on the floor, I went back to the room and got the rest and as he slept I created a bed with the blankets, keeping one duvet to the side to use as a cover, I then put down the pillows, and I stood holding one blanket and placed it over Loki, as I went to pull away I felt his hand grip my wrist. "Where are you going?" He asked sleepily.

"I'm gonna sleep on the floor, I thought maybe we could sleep in the same room, for safety purposes," I whispered and he looked down at the floor and then went to stand. "What are you doing?" I asked and he put his hands on my shoulders, roughly he shoved me down onto my knees and he got down on his as well.

"Lay down," he said and I sat back and moved closer to the fireplace he crawled toward me and I felt myself becoming warm, he grabbed my hip and I turned to a laying position when he grabbed the duet and pulled it over me, I then felt his arms lace around my waist and pull me flush against him. "This is rather comfortable..." He whispered, his accent thick, into my neck as I felt heat rise, even more, I closed my eyes and let out a deep breath trying to even it out. "This is alright of course? correct?" he asked as I felt his hand come up and grab mine.

"Yes," I whispered back simply and he hummed, I felt restless suddenly, but I stayed stiff, not daring to move with him against me, would it be like this as long as the storm hit? God, part of me hoped, part of me did not.

"Calm down." He whispered again, I turned and decided to be as bold as he is for a moment, we made eye contact, but it didn't matter because I was pushing myself into his chest instead of having my backside pressed into him, I pushed my hands into his chest and entangled our legs, this way I felt hidden in his chest enough to relax, and I did, his arms pulled me closer and his chin rested in my neck again, and I warmed up at the touch of his hands on my hips,

"This is better," I whispered.

"Whatever makes you comfortable Darling." He whispered and I smiled nodding. "Now sleep." He yawned and I smiled nodding.

That morning I woke up, he was still asleep, the God always did seem to sleep in more than me, genuinely I don't think he cares. I decided to attempt to slip out of the Gods grasp, his arms slowly slipping off my waist, and then I had to detangle our legs, I tried slipping one out that was between his, and he let out a small groan, and I froze, stopping my movement, he didn't stir, I continued and managed to escape I was able to make it out, I covered him up again and turned to the fire seeing it smouldering, I added a log and lit it again, I walked around and put out the still-lit candles, and looked outside, the sky was still covered in clouds as the wind and snow whipped around, today was the 22nd of December, and I had a feeling me and Loki will be stuck here for Christmas, I knew blizzards could last at least 5 days, a complete white-out.

I grabbed the other bag and opened it completely pulling it apart at the table. I separated the food, they didn't pack much, only enough to last a night or two, I opened the pistols, checking the bullets and aiming, good ones, the knives all good, I didn't have any doubt, flashlights. I pushed those aside and pulled out the first aid kit, and put it to the side, that was it, I turned and started gathering all the food and liquor in the house and gathered it all, I separated it all in into, and there were enough for 4, maybe 5 days, which was a good thing, I found a notebook and wrote down everything there was.
