Chapter Forty-Eight

I woke up the next morning to the sun in my eyes. I almost forgot where I was, that I wasn't in the tower and I wasn't able to see my family. I stared at the wooden roof looking for answers in my head, I couldn't make sense of it. I felt his hand run along my back and I smiled looking down at him. "You want distraction?" He whispered and I nodded. "Paris like you said. Where should we go?" He asked and I smiled nodding.

"I don't know but, I think we should just go and have a day. I feel like it'll be good for you too, you haven't seen much of Midgard." I said and he nodded smiling, I smiled and kissed his lips. "You wanna save some water and shower together and then get ready?" I asked and he nodded smirking at me before hoisting me up into his arms and carrying me to the shower. After we dressed and still dressed warmly he took my hand and suddenly there was the Eiffel Tower right in front of me, he also looked rather surprised. I laughed. "That's called the Eiffel Tower. It was built as a centrepiece of the city." I said and he hummed looking at it. "We should go to the top tonight," I said and pulled out my phone.

"I would like to see the view." He said and I smiled nodding. I looked up good cafes took his hand and began to walk.

"How does breakfast sound?" I asked and he nodded at me. I wrapped my arm around him and we walked together, his hand finding mine as it clutched his elbow and gently rubbed my skin in what felt like a comforting touch. I smiled leaning on him and I saw the place I looked up and pulled him that way, and we walked inside. The place was called J-C. We walked up to the counter and saw an older couple who was running the place, fresh baked goods filled the air. The older man was standing by the counter, while who I assumed was his wife was bustling in the back cooking from what I could see through the window to the back.

"Bonjour je m'appelle Jean-Claude, que puis-je vous proposer?"

I hissed. French is-

"Bonjour! avez-vous un menu que je peux voir?" Loki spoke and I froze.

"Oui!" Jean-Claude handed him a menu and spoke again. "Allez-y, asseyez-vous, à l'intérieur ou à l'extérieur, je viendrai vous voir dans une minute."

"Merci!" He said pulling me back outside, I was astonished, he sat me down at the table outside and looked at me seeing my shocked expression. "I've been to France before. Just not Paris." He said sheepishly. "I've lived a long existence and have had time to learn some new things and French is one of them." He said and I stared.

"What else don't I know?" I asked and he gulped looking down.

"Not much. Have you ever heard of D.B Cooper?" He asked and I nodded.

"Yeah? It's like one of America's biggest mysteries." He started to smile sheepishly.

"Thor and I have had our bets." He said splaying his hands open and shrugging a bit and my jaw dropped.

"You-" I gawked. "You're D.B. Cooper?" I laughed and he smiled nodding.

"Yeah... And there have been a few things here and there that I've done."

"Wait so... If you have been to Midgard before does that mean you've had other... Relations to Midgardians before?" I asked almost feeling sad that, that could be a possibility.

"No. I never thought you Midgardians worthy before. Before you." He said and I felt my stomach feel fluttery.

"Okay, before you tell me more because you have to tell me everything, let's look at the menu and see what we want." He nodded and read it to me, we both decided on some food, he wanted the crepes, and I wanted a croissant egg sandwich, both of us getting a Latte. Jean-Claude happened to come out after and he ordered for us, and then I looked at Loki expectedly. "Tell me more," I said and he smiled.
