Chapter Sixteen

"It's 11:59!" Loki pulled me to stand and Suddenly everyone was rushing to where Tony stood on a goddamn table, I felt hands on me, I looked seeing buck and Steve, the others coming to stand, it was like I was pulled out of the trance that Loki had put me in as everyone started counting down from 10, once 1 was called the clock hit midnight everyone started to cheer, I was silent, I felt a pull and I turned seeing Buck, I smiled and hugged him, we gave each other a small kiss, him pulling back smiling, I turned and there was steve who was just finishing a hug with Wanda, he turned and smiled at me, he pulled me up off my feet, and hugged me like that and pulled back slightly, kissing each other and I giggled and laughed at the small peck, when he put me down I was smothered by Sam next who also gave a similar kiss, then both my siblings who kissed all over my face making me laugh, thor gave me a very sloppy kiss, hed been drinking so it didn't really surprise me, i turned and saw Pepper and Tony walking toward us, i ran over and gave them quick hugs, that was when i noticed He was gone again, god Loki where do you keep going? I literally could not see him in the room.

"Thor." I grabbed his arm, he looked at me. "Where did Loki go?" I asked and he hummed.

"I saw him go into the elevator." He said grumbling, and I smiled, nodding and walking over to the elevator, walking in and as the doors closed I spoke.

"Friday where is Loki?"

"It appears he's on the helipad Miss Maximoff."

I hummed and pressed the 98th button, to bring myself up there, I started going up and I would be cold, I huffed, and started warming myself now so I wouldn't need to later, what about him though? The elevator opened and I walked out to the helipad, coming to a halt seeing him facing opposite me, looking out at the sky, his arms were crossed from what I could tell, and I couldn't see his frontal even if I tried, the light coming from behind us, shadowing the front of us. "Loki?" I whispered, and he flinched. "Is everything okay? You've been so off tonight." I whispered

"Sorry Darling, but I have been lost in my thoughts tonight." He spoke, and I frowned.

"Why?" I asked, I went to take a step forward but he moved slightly, now instead of folded arms they appeared in front of him, still shadowed by his figure.

"I believe it be best if you knew the truth." He said and I furrowed my eyebrows. "I overheard a thought from Barnes, something you had said to him when he was thinking of your time with him this morning. New Year, New You." He said and I hummed.

"Okay, so what's the New You?" I asked and he sighed.

"New Year, New us." He said and I furrowed my eyebrows again. "I want you to know the truth of what I am. A monster." He said and I frowned.

"How are you a monster Loki?" I asked.

"I am the thing, people in my world tell their children about out of fear. I am the monster, that has killed and instilled fear in many, the ones that hear of my kind, cower, it is how I was birthed, that makes me a monster." He spoke sadly.

"You aren't on your home planet," I said and he sighed.

"You will see, even my face on Midgard would fear them, fear you."

"Your face? Well, I think your face is quite handsome." I clicked my tongue, I heard a breathy laugh.

"Do you still think so?" He whispered, he turned to me, and I couldn't help but take a step back in surprise. His skin was blue, similar to a sky blue, his eyes were a bright red, and he had what looked like scars on his forehead, cheeks and chin, he looked at me, and took a step towards me like he was testing the waters, I was frozen in interest. "You are scared." He said and I opened my mouth to say something, but no words came out, as much as I felt like I should be scared, I wasn't, if I was being honest with myself, I found him beautiful, something I had never seen before, was oddly gorgeous. "Speak to me."
