MEI AIHARA'S POINT OF VIEW

CHAPTER 16

It was the day of the festival, and while Yuzu is prepping up Mei's hair she apologize because they won't be going alone, "Sorry Mei, I said we'd go ourselves but...". "Its fine, I'm not worried about it." Mei reassured Yuzu that it would still be fun together with the others.

"Alright! Finished! Your hair looks good down too but its also nice worn up. Oh and one more thing! Just a moment." Yuzu went to get something from her accessories, then went back to Mei whose standing at the body size mirror, admiring Yuzu's handy work on her hair.

"Lastly, an important object" Mei was speechless when Yuzu is gently putting a very nice necklace around her neck which has her ring as its pendant, "We'll be with everyone but, I thought if we wear it around our necks like this, we'll be secretly together.. its okay if you hide it under your yukata too." while Yuzu is also showing Mei her necklace with her matching ring.

MEI POV

- Yuzu... your too much affection is almost drowning me (sigh)... what should I do now... I'm still figuring out my feelings from the other day...

At the festival, Yuzu went to fetch Shirapon-Senpai and left Mei, Himeko, Harumi, Matsuri and Nene for a while. When Yuzu got back, she introduces Shirapon-Senpai with the group and they all went to explore the booths.

During the festival, Shirapon-Senpai is keenly observing every moves, every expressions that Mei does and makes. Because for Shirapon-Senpai, this is the best opportunity for her to know many things about Mei.

YUZU POV

- What is this feeling? This feeling Shirapon-Senpai has towards Mei. It doesn't feel like she's observing out of pleasure...

"Where did you go?" Mei asks Yuzu because she leaves her side again. "Sorry about that. I had something important to discuss with Shirapon-Senpai." Yuzu explained.

MEI POV

- I see... but why am I getting irritated seeing Yuzu's attention is towards other people... come here Yuzu, you belong here... at my side... you should get it by now...

Yuzu was startled when Mei abruptly grabs her and clings around her arm.

YUZU POV

- Huh? What is this? Isn't Mei being too forward? No way... even in front of everyone...

Yuzu felt an intense glare coming from Shirapon-Senpai, she decided to let loose from Mei's arms and joined Harumin's group instead, leaving Mei alone dumbfounded.

MEI POV

- what the heck!!!???... Yuzu? avoiding me again and again... what is wrong with you?... ugh, this is supposed to be fun right? but why am I not happy... very well, I understand you wanted to be with your friends too... I'll let this one slip too...

YUZU POV

- Sorry Mei, I have to deceive Shirapon-Senpai somehow... today we probably shouldn't get too close.

Himeko saw that Mei is alone and decided to be her company. While the others are enjoying trying every booth in the festival, something caught Mei's attention.

MEI POV

- A yuzubocchi prize? hmm... if I could win this for her it will make her happy... okay lets see...

Mei tried her hardest to win the yuzubocchi at the shooting booth but keep on failing miserably. "It just won't fall down" a frustrated Himeko said, while still supporting Mei at winning the prize. Matsuri noticed a desperate Mei and tried to help her win the prize. As Matsuri successfully hit the yuzubocchi prize she handed it to Mei, "Here, its rare to see you into something. I've returned the favor."

MEI POV

- (sigh) thanks Matsuri... but it isn't the same... I don't feel giving it to Yuzu anymore, cause I didn't win it, it will not serve its purpose... well, I think Himeko would like this.. heh, well I think she'll like anything as long as it came from me...

"Mei-mei, shall we get something as well while we're here? Its kind of bad manners to eat outside though." Himeko and Mei checks to see if they could find something they want to eat in some of the booths.

MEI POV

- Crepes! I wish Yuzu is here, so we could exchange flavors... (sigh)

Himeko and Mei found the group already having their snacks or dinner inside an area that looks like a food court. Yuzu is waving at Mei telling her they bought the same flavored crepe.

MEI POV

- Ah... as usual, your smile is so bright Yuzu. Even though we can't exchange flavors, I felt a warm feeling cause we have the same idea on picking the same food... well as long as I'm with you, I think this is fine too...

Little did Mei know, Shirapon-Senpai is looking and observing her silently on the sidelines.

Yuzu and Shirapon decided to sit on the bench for a while after they had their snacks and to rest from walking around exploring each booths, "Its been a while since I've last been inside a crowd, so I used a little too much energy. I think I'll rest here until the fireworks begin. Thank you for today. I was able to see many new faces of Aihara Mei. Its all thanks to you Yuzupon. However, one thing did bother me... Aihara Mei didn't appear to be enjoying herself. She was concerned about her necklace the entire time, her actions tell me there might be meaning behind it."

YUZU POV

- That's right, Mei had been looking forward to this day. At the very least we have to see the fireworks together!

Yuzu excused herself from Shirapon and goes towards where Mei and the others are. Yuzu found them already had their spot looking out at the beautiful fireworks display that already began. She sneaks in and grab Mei's hand from behind gesturing to keep quiet and go with her to another place.

MEI POV

- Hmm... Yuzu, what are you planning to do, sneaking us out like this?... what is this tingling sensation in my tummy... (a naughty smile forming)
