MEI AIHARA'S POINT OF VIEW

CHAPTER 23

Matsuri's outburst was from the fact that she just learned - Mei will most probably be engaged and married to a guy preferred by her family. An arranged marriage that will surely break Yuzu's heart.

Just a little while ago, Matsuri accidentally overheard Himeko and Shiraho-Senpai talking about having fiancé and mentioned Mei in the conversation. This triggered Matsuri to eavesdrop.

"Mei-san has a fiancé too? Does that mean she is dating Yuzu-chan, even though she knows that she is going to get married to someone else..?

At this point Matsuri cannot hide her rage from Himeko and Shiraho-Senpai. Which lead to her outburst...

"THIS IS STUPID!!!"

"Mei-san is not even taking Yuzu-chan seriously, and yet, I was trying to set them up romantically? This is really hideous. If she's just toying with Yuzu-chan's feelings, why did she kiss her back then? Did she kiss her because she was jealous of me? Why did she accept Yuzu-chan's precious ring?"

Harumi come rushing to the scene and was surprised to see Matsuri's face full of anger and pain, "Hey! What's going on!?" before Matsuri could answer, Yuzu came in, "Harumin, what happened?!?". Harumi immediately hugged Matsuri to hide her expression from Yuzu, "Ahh, Yuzucchi, I'm not too sure about the situation too, however, it seems that things have settled down so don't worry too much." Harumi tried to explain to Yuzu as careful as possible cause she doesn't want her bestfriend to worry and ask more questions.

Harumi and Matsuri went to their room, leaving Himeko, Shiraho-Senpai and Yuzu speechless. While Mei seems bothered on Matsuri's intense glare to her.

MEI POV

- What is going on? is Matsuri mad at me? why so?... what just happen here?... Himeko?

Everybody was silent during their breakfast, when the Manager received an important call. "Hello, yes. Ahh, has it already been decided? I understand. Don't worry, I won't run away anymore. I shall come over to pay a visit soon."

All of them went back to their hometown and arrived safely.

"Ah, feels so good, coming back to our hometown. Though this was my first trip, it was sooo fun! Fishing was pretty interesting after trying it. The barbeque was really delicious too when everyone ate it together.

YUZU POV

- The one thing that I feel regret over is that time when I couldn't hear properly what Mei was trying to tell me about her feelings.

"I uhm... I'm sorry about last night. I already know your feelings for me but, I guess I was becoming really desperate to hear it from you. But anyway, I'll wait until you feel ready to say it!!"

MEI POV

- No, this should be the time... I may not have the right time anymore... Time is of the essence for me right now... Yuzu... I want you to know... You NEED to know...

"Um.. Mei, are you alright?"

"Yuzu..."

"Yeah?"

"I..."

"Wait, Mei. Its alright. No need to be so tensed. Didn't I say you can tell me whenever you want to?"

"Right now, I have to tell you right now..."

"What do you mean "I have to tell you"? You make it sound like I'm forcing you to say it..."

"You're right, I'm sorry"

MEI POV

- But you don't understand Yuzu... cause honestly, I don't understand it either, why I can't bring myself to tell you what I really feel about you... I am such a coward... I am very sorry Yuzu... I know you are kind, I really don't want to take advantage of that kindness.. but still.. I really hope you can forgive me...

YUZU POV

- Mei's hand is shaking and it wasn't because of the weather. She looked so uncomfortable. I unconsciously avoided hearing what she wanted to say even though it should be what I've been longing to hear...

Yuzu is busy doing school work in their room,

"WAAAAAHHHH, I knew it was a lot, but... this is way too much for me. All this summer homework! Can I even finish these..."

When Mei enters the room seeing a whining Yuzu...

"AH... I'm doing it! I'm doing it right now!" a scared Yuzu crams to her homework.

YUZU POV

- Ever since we came back from the trip, the number of times I have noticed Mei's lonely expression have somehow increased. In times like these, I should be asking her out on a date and cheer her up! That is what I thought but, there's this much homework holding me back.

"Ah... hey, Mei! Once I'm done with homework, shall we go on a date? Summer break is coming to an end too. Please..."

"Well okay, only if you finish all the homework."

"YAHOOO!!! Now I have a reason to work harder."

MEI POV

- sigh... yeah, summer break is coming to an end and that's not all that is coming... sigh... but a date, I would love to have dates with you Yuzu... I wish everything will last between us... I love you Yuzu... so much that I don't know what to do to be able to... sigh...
