I grabbed my phone after my alarm went off to find a text from Ashton. I grinned giddily and slid my finger across the screen,

-messages-

Ashton: [ hey, are you doing
anything tonight? ]

[ not that I know of. what's up? ]

Ashton: [ would you wanna hang
out, maybe go get ice cream
or something? Like just us two ]

[ I'd love to!! ]

Ashton: [ amazing! See you soon ]

I couldn't hold back my smile. My big ole crush on Ashton keeps on growing and now the two of us get to hang out, without our other friends. I'm hoping whatever this is with Ashton goes somewhere because I really like him.

I quickly got dressed and bounced down the stairs and into the kitchen where my parents were,

"You are in good mood" Dad laughed,

"I'm hanging out with Ashton tonight and I'm excited. I really like him" I nodded then watched my parents look at each other, "What?"

"Pay, we need you to babysit your brothers tonight" Dad sighed. I felt my smile drop,

"Why don't you invite Ashton over here? Your brothers won't bother you" Mom suggested,

"Yeah, I'll suggest it" I sighed, "Where are you going?"

"We have a meeting with some Military people," Dad told me. I nodded because I knew what that meant- he was going to get deployed again.

Before I could respond, my little brothers walked in, dressed with backpacks on.

We said our goodbyes to our parents then I ushered them out to my car. I made sure they were both buckled before I pulled out of the driveway.

I got to school and parked next to Ashton. He waved and I got out and went and got in his passenger seat,

"Good morning" he grinned and offered me a sip of his coffee, which I took, "I was thinking like six or seven tonight?"

I sighed and shuffled in my seat,

"So I have to watch my little brothers tonight. I didn't know until after I told you yes. If you want, you can come to mine and hang out" I shrugged,

"Yeah that works. No worries" he shook it off, "What time you want me over?"

"Six is fine" I grinned,

"Awesome" he winked, making me blush.

I picked up my brothers after school and drove them home. The house was quiet which told me Mom and Dad had left already. I sighed and walked upstairs, stopping at my brothers' room,

"Hey I'm taking a shower because I have a friend coming over at six"

"Okay" they both called as they changed out of what they wore to school. I laughed lightly and headed into my room.

I quickly showered and dried my hair then pulled on a pair of running shorts and long sleeve shirt. I grabbed my phone and saw it was only 4:30, so I still had plenty of time before Ashton got here.
