I walked into the airport at two in the morning with my mom and we quickly found my classmates. Today we leave for our senior trip to DC,

"There's your friends" Mom pointed to where my friends and their parents stood. The only person I didn't see was Payton,

"Hey Ash" Luke grinned as we walked up,

"Hey guys" I yawned, "Pay here yet?"

I had checked my phone but I didn't see a text or anything,

"Wow you don't even care about seeing us. You only care about seeing your girlfriend" Michael scoffed making all the parents laugh,

"I hope it's not some other girlfriend" I heard behind me with a laugh. I quickly turned and Payton was walking up,

"Hey Pay" I smiled and hugged her,

"Where's your mom?" My mom asked her,

"She just dropped me off. My brothers were asleep in the car and I didn't want her to have to wake them up"

The parents started talking while we all stayed in our little group. Soon our teachers came around and handed us our boarding passes. We all checked to see if any of us were sitting together. Grace and Payton got sat together but the rest of us were with other kids in our class.

"Alright. You kids have fun and be safe" Michael's mom told us all,

"We will" Michael groaned. We quickly said bye and followed our group through security. Once we got through there, we still had some to kill before we boarded so a bunch of us stopped at Starbucks. The boys and I got in line while Grace and Payton went on to the terminal. Calum and I were going to get them something,

"So I checked the itinerary for the trip, and we aren't going to the Arlington Cemetary" Luke spoke,

"Pay's gonna be upset" Michael sighed,

"She's going. I promised her" I told them, "I'll sneak us out. We're not leaving here without her being able to see her dad's grave"

"Do what you need to so she can visit her dad. We'll cover for you" Calum patted my back. I smiled just as our names were called. We all grabbed our drinks and headed to the terminal.

I sat down next to Payton and passed her drink to her,

"Thanks" she grinned and pecked my lips. I smiled and let my arm drape around her.

About twenty minutes later we boarded our flight and headed off to Washington DC.

We landed in DC and we all got off the plane, following our teachers to where they had a nice bus waiting for us. We didn't have to worry about baggage claim since we were only allowed to bring carry-ons.

We loaded the bus and I claimed a seat next to Payton. Calum and Grace sat in front of us and Luke and Michael sat across the aisle.

"Okay. So we won't be going to the hotel first. We're going to the museums" our teacher stood, "So all bags, except purses, will stay on the bus"

We all nodded and the boys and I handed some stuff to Payton and Grace to put in their backpack purses,

"Did you see we aren't going to the cemetery?" Payton frowned as she took my hand,

"I did. But we will go. I promise" I smiled. She grinned and laid her head on my arm, but not for long since we came to a stop and it was time to get off the bus.
