{ Ashton }

I had been waiting around for a while. Payton was supposed to be at my house forty-five minutes ago. She had texted me and told me she was on her way, but she hasn't shown up yet. I'm actually getting a little worried. She only lives fifteen minutes away so she should be here by now.

I headed downstairs and found my mom getting off the phone and looking worried,

"What's wrong?" I questioned, hopping up on the counter,

"Sweetie, Payton got in a car wreck and is going to the hospital. Amy just called me and told me. She asked if I could come get Evan and Jude" my mom spoke, making me panic,

"Is Payton okay?"

"Amy said she was passed out. I think she has to have surgery" my mom explained, "She said if you want, you can come up there and stay"

I nodded and turned on my heels to go grab my car keys.

My mom, Harry, and I walked into the hospital and into the ER waiting room. We quickly found Amy, Evan, and Jude,

"What happened?" I asked as Amy hugged me,

"She was heading to yours and got hit at the intersection by the grocery store. She had told me before she left she was going to Starbucks so I guess that's why she was there. A guy ran the light and hit her then took off. I was told by a witness her car flipped three times" Amy explained.

I slowly nodded,

"Well, Evan and Jude can stay at ours as long as you need" my mom assured her. Amy smiled and hugged her again,

"Are you staying here Ashton?" Amy asked me. I nodded,

"Good. Apparently she woke up a little and told them she had to tell you that she was going to be late" she chuckled, making me smile.

I sat for about an hour with Amy in the waiting room when a doctor came out and walked towards us,

"You must be Ashton" he laughed, making me nod, "She's been talking all about you"

My face when red and Amy laughed,

"How is she?" Amy questioned,

"She's okay. We had to do the surgery because she broke her collarbone and it came through the skin. We also found that two ribs are broken but there's not much we can do about that. She's definitely got a concussion and she's got road rash. Was she ejected from the vehicle?"

"I'm not sure. Nobody's told me many details" Amy shook her head. The doctor nodded,

"If you want, you all can come back. She's awake but very drowsy and loopy. She'll probably say some funny stuff from the drugs we have her on"

Amy thanked him and I followed her to the room.

When we walked in, Payton was laying in the bed. She had a few monitors hooked to her and had an IV in her arm. She had scrapes and cuts all over her. Her shoulder had a huge ice pack on it and she had a gash in her head. She also looked like she was having a hard time keeping her eyes open,

"Hi sweetheart" Amy spoke and walked over to the side of the bed,

"Hi" Payton spoke slow, then her eyes met mine and she looked at the doctor,

"My boyfriend's here" she goofily told them, making everyone laugh,

"She's super high on drugs right now so she may say some weird things" the doctor warned. Amy and I laughed and I walked over and stood next to the bed,

"You're so cute," she told me,

"How are you feeling?" Amy asked her,

"Kinda weird. I can't feel my shoulder" she said then started to cry, "Oh no! The doctor took my shoulder"

"No, he didn't take it Pay" I laughed, "It was broke so they fixed it. It's just numb"

Suddenly she wasn't crying anymore and laid her head back and closed her eyes,

"I'm going to take a nap"

"Then take a nap" Amy laughed,

"Ashton, cuddle me" Payton demanded. I smiled and carefully slid onto the bed so I didn't hurt her. She laid her head on my shoulder. She let out a big huff of air then closed her eyes,

"I should have took a video of that. That was pretty funny" Amy laughed and sat in the chair next to the bed as the doctor came back. He explained a few things to Amy then said that when Payton wakes up again, they'll check her over and send her home,

"I need to go get her some clothes" Amy sighed,

"I have some of my clothes in my car. I usually have an extra pair" I shrugged,

"I'm sure that'll work"

When Payton woke up, she was in a lot of pain. I had to help Amy get her dressed then the doctor put this sling-type thing on her. It was black and had a blocker on it so her arm couldn't rest directly against her.

I lifted Payton into the front seat of Amy's car and buckled her seatbelt for her,

"Can you come over? I feel bad because I messed up our day" Payton pouted,

"Yeah I can come for a bit" I smiled, "But I do work early in the morning so I can't stay the night"

Payton nodded and I kissed her cheek,

"I'll see you at your house" I smiled then headed off to my Jeep.

{ Payton }

Ashton carried me up to my room. I was so sore I couldn't walk up the stairs, but I did not want to stay on the couch. I wanted the comfort of my bed. My mom followed us up to make sure I was okay and comfortable. She quickly gave me two pain pills then told me she was going to make me some food.

Ashton climbed in my bed with me and he adjusted a pillow so that my bad shoulder was propped up,

"You know, I was getting worried that you hadn't shown up at my house yet" Ashton sighed, "Then your mom called mine and told her what happened" he spoke,

"It happened fast. I had just gone to turn at the intersection. I had the green light. Then this truck came out of nowhere and slammed me. The car flipped then I was laying on the road. I don't know how because my seatbelt was on" I explained, "Then there was yelling and then I passed out"

"It was a hit and run. They think maybe somehow your seatbelt snapped" Ashton spoke. I nodded and let my head rest on his shoulder,

"You feel okay? Any pain?" he asked,

"I'm okay. Just want you to cuddle me" I smiled,

"I can do that. How about we watch The Vampire Diaries too?"

"Of fucking course"
