Just as I finished getting dressed for school, I heard a small knock on my bedroom door then it slowly opened as Evan and Jude walked in,

"Hey. What's up?" I smiled, making sure my backpack was packed for the day,

"Can you take us to school instead of Mommy?" Evan asked. My smile softened,

"Yeah of course" I assured,

"Can we get donuts?" Jude cheekily grinned,

"I guess we can get donuts" I laughed. He giggled lightly,

"We'll leave here in a minute. Go make sure you have everything" I told them. They nodded and ran out of the room, not bothering to close my door.

I zipped my backpack then grabbed my phone and texted Ashton to not come get me and that I was driving myself. He texted back right away with an 'okay' and a 'see you soon'.

I smiled then headed downstairs where my brothers were eagerly waiting by the door,

"That was longer than a minute Payton," Jude told me with his arms crossed,

"Sorry" I laughed as Mom came around the corner,

"Have a good day kids. Remember if you want to be picked up or come home that's fine"

We nodded and she kissed all our heads before I loaded my brothers into my car,

"Where do you want donuts from?" I asked as I pulled out of the driveway,

"Dunkin so you can get your coffee too," Evan told me. I nodded then sent a text to my friends to see if they wanted anything.

I got to school and parked in my spot next to Ashton after I dropped Evan and Jude off. Ashton wasn't in his car but Grace was in hers and she was getting out and coming to mine,

"Good morning" she smiled as I handed her her coffee, "You drove separate from Ashton?"

"Yeah. My brothers wanted me to take them to school. They've just been clingy lately. I think it has to do with my dad" I shrugged and got out of my car, opening the back door and grabbing my backpack,

"Well, the boys are inside already"

I nodded and we headed into the building and to our lockers where the four guys happened to be standing.

"Hey" Ashton grinned, walking towards me and pulling me into his arms. I inhaled his scent as I was brought into his chest. I felt him kiss the top of my head causing me to tip my head back so I could kiss his lips,

"You okay?" he asked, pushing a piece of my hair back. I nodded. I knew today might be hard. It's my first day back at school since my dad died and it's only two days after his funeral,

"He's being buried today in Arlington National Cemetary" I smiled lightly. Ashton smiled softly before Michael's voice pulled us away,

"Hey love birds" he called, "Knock it off"

I rolled my eyes as Ashton took my hand,

"How come you never say shit to Calum and Grace?" Ashton scoffed,

"Cause they aren't as lovey-dovey as you two" Michael defended.

That was fair.

After school, Ashton came over to my house. We were both laying in my bed watching a movie, completely forgetting about the homework we needed to do. I laid peacefully in Ashton's arms, feeling him every now and then hold me closer.

I was feeling clingy, so I rolled to where I was laying directly on top of him, my head tucked under his chin. He chuckled then pulled the blanket up over us,

"Comfortable?" he hummed, making me nod. We both relaxed and I felt my eyes getting heavier and heavier until soon I fell asleep.

When I woke up, I was still laying on Ashton's chest. He was awake but scrolling through his phone, which he dropped as soon as he saw I was up,

"Have a nice nap?" he asked. I nodded and sat up to where I was straddling his lap,

"Oh and your mom took your brothers to basketball" he smiled, his hands resting on my thighs. I nodded and leaned forward, pressing my lips to his.
