"Morning kid! How you doing?" my boss, Steven, grinned as I walked into the shop,

"Good. How about you?" I smiled,

"Doing well" he nodded, "We don't have a busy day. You got one car this morning then I saw you added one to the schedule"

"Yeah. It's my girlfriend's. Usually her dad does the maintenance but he recently passed away so I'm gonna take over the maintenance" I shrugged, "Also, can I head out afterward and maybe leave a car here for a bit? We are looking at an apartment today after I work on her car"

"Yeah, that's fine. I thought you guys found an apartment though?" Steve questioned,

"We did but someone beat us to the contract"

"Gotcha. You do whatever you need to do. Alright? I'm gonna let you get to work. I have some things to do in the office" he told me. I nodded and he walked off and I headed to the car that was waiting already.

I lifted the hood and did everything I needed in there then got the car on the lift so I could do a tire change. After the tire change, I brought the car back down and changed the oil. Once completely done, I texted the owner to let him know his car was ready then parked it out in the lot.

Once I walked back into the shop, I sat back on the stool and quickly texted Payton,

We aren't busy at all ]

Pay🥰: [ Okay. I'm getting dressed
now then I'll be there ]

[ Also, after I work on your car,
my boss said I could take off so we
can go and look at that apartment ]

mall afterward? I have a ton of
gift cards from my birthday still
and need some new clothes ]

I laughed and put my phone down as my boss walked into the garage, asking if I could help him with something.

As I was helping move a couple of things around in the garage, I saw Payton pull up in her Range Rover,

"Your girlfriend drives a Range Rover?" Steve's eyes we wide,

"Well, she didn't. Her car got totaled in a wreck. Instead of buying her a new one, she got her dad's car since he passed away"

Steve nodded and Payton got out, walking towards us,

"Hey Pay" I grinned, walking to her and hugging her,

"Hey" she giggled, hugging back then pulling away, "You look so cute in your little work outfit" she gushed, making me roll my eyes,

"Give me your keys" I laughed. She handed me the keys then I brought her further into the garage, seeing my boss had now disappeared,

"You can sit in my rolly chair while I work," I told her, lightly pushing her into the seat and giving it a spin,

"I don't really know what needs to be done with the car but I'm guessing you do" she shrugged at me,

"Pay, your tires are so worn down that I don't know how you're driving and anytime I've been in that car, it says to change the oil," I told her. She cutely shrugged making me shake my head with a smile,
