Wow Floofics know how to take care of people. Not only did they make sure I didn't breathe in too much gas but they, sharpened my knife, gave me some gauze bandages to wrap around my chest, and believe it or not they feed me.
They also let me sleep in their hideout for a night. When I hit the floor. The hard, cold floor. I fall asleep instantly.

Four years ago

After spending eternity in the hospital I can finally go home. I wish I could of stayed at the hospital. My mom came to pick me up. She had a black eye. I felt bad but there was nothing I could do.
When we got home my mom informed me to be quiet because dad was asleep. I nodded and headed upstairs. I passed by his room as quietly as I could on crutches and closed the door to my room.
Not much but it would help. While I was in the hospital me and Jordan exchanged phone numbers. I start texting him.

Me: Hey

Jordan: Whats up?

Me: Well my dad's passed out

Jordan: That's good right?

Me: Yeah

Jordan: Did you just need someone to talk to?

Me: Yeah

After talking for awhile Jordan has to eat supper so he tells me he'll message when he's done. I lay my phone on my chest and think. I hear movement in the room next to mine and become alert.
He's always angry after he wakes up. I hear his door open and he steps onto our second floor. Not really a floor more of an inside balcony.
"Is the ungrateful brat home?" He yells downstairs to mom. I immediately text Jordan.

Me: HELP!

No response. He's probably still eating.

Jordan: Need a ride?

  I sigh with relief.

Me: Yes. As soon as possible.

Jordan: On my way.

I think about jumping out my window but that's not an option. Yet. I listen for sound outside my door but I don't hear anything.
That could be good. Or bad. I know Jordan wouldn't honk the horn but he would text me.

Jordan: I'm here.

Me: I'll be out soon.

I grab my crutches and walk to my door wishing that I could go out the window. I open the door. "Hello brat." I receive a punch to the face and fall to the floor.

When I make it outside I feel like things couldn't be worse. "Oh my god! Alex!" Jordan's by my side in an instant. "What happened?" "He woke up." I wipe my nose with the back of my hand and it comes away with blood.
"You need to go the hospital." He says. "NO!" I scream and my poor friend backs away. "I'm sorry. Just no doctors. That'll result in an excuse, worse beating, and no school." I explain. Jordan smiles sadly at me. "Wanna stay the night?" I smile at his offer. "Sure."
When we get to his house his parents invite me in warmly, fix me up, and feed me. I feel safe. After dinner we all sit down and watch tv. I lay my head on Jordan's chest and yawn.
He plays with my hair and I close my eyes. "Thank you." I say before drifting off.

I wake up and look around. Zodiac's next to me snoring softly and I smile. I pick him up, pull on my hoodie I was using as a pillow, and let him sleep in the pocket.
I take one last look at all the sleeping Floofics and walk out of there feeling ready for whatever comes next.
