I ask Chris if he wants me to drop him off anywhere and he says no. "Well. What are you gonna do then?" I ask as we walk in the rain. "Easy. Head home. Take a shower. And sleep till I feel like getting up." I laugh and he smiles at me. "What?" I ask.
"I don't think I've ever heard you laugh like that." I look around for a distraction and see my apartment building is coming up. "Well. I think I'm going to go take a five hour long shower. Then a bath. And then go to sleep." Chris laughs and he stops at my apartment building door.
"Well I guess I'll see you later." He says. I half smile and wave. He waves and walks away. I turn to go upstairs not noticing what's left on the sidewalk where Chris was standing.
After taking my shower I fall into my bed and sleep instantly.I'm walking with Chris. He's laughing about something and I see there's a darkness around his feet. "Hey Chris." I look at his face and see it's distorted. "What the-?" He pins me to a wall with one hand his distorted face grinning like a maniac.
I wake up from the dream my hair plastered to my face with sweat. "The hell?" I rub my face trying to shake off that dream. I can't go to sleep after that so I go into my kitchen looking for food.
As I contemplate whether or not to eat the fried chicken that's in there my phone goes off. "Coming." I shove the chicken in my mouth and jog to my phone.
I grab my phone just as I get a call. I answer it. "Hewo." My 'Hello' messed up by the chicken. I take the chicken out as I wait for the other person to answer. I try again. "Hello?"
"Hey. Alex? Is that you? God you sound so grown up." My chicken I was eating falls out of my mouth. "Jordan?" He laughs on the other end. "Who'd you think it was some random British dude that somehow knew your name and phone number?"
His voice sounds so great with his new British accent. "How have you been?" I ask. "It's been okay. I miss you." He sounds sad. "I miss you too. I want to tell you so many things but I don't think I can tell you everything over the phone."
He laughs. "Well that's fine because I'm coming to vist." I almost drop the rest of my chicken. "Really?!" "Yep." I almost jump up and down with happiness. We talk some more and I finish my chicken.
Jordan tells me he has to go because he's catching the early flight back over. "Okay. Talk to you later." We hang up and I smile.
Jordan is sure to believe me about everything. Right? I try to call Chris but no answer. He's probably dead asleep. I go to sleep myself.I'm woken up by my phone ringing. "Hello?" I say my voice sounding really scratchy. "You tried to call me at TWO IN THE MORNING! What do you want?" Says Chris on the other end of the line.
"Guess what? An old friend of mine is coming to visit with me!" "Great you can introduce them to me." He says only a little sarcastically. I shake my head.
"Well anyways he's been in England for four years so he has a little accent." I inform Chris. "And I care because?" What the hell happened to him? He was always nice and lighthearted. Probably just the stress of everything.
"Never mind." I hang up and rub my eyes. I feel so tired and stressed. I go into my bathroom with the mirror still broken. I kinda wish it wasn't broken.
I pick up a hand mirror I got for Zodiac. I look at myself in the mirror. I like the hair covering my eyes but I move it out of the way and look at myself again.
Chris is right. I look better when I'm not hiding my eyes. I smile and deside to show off my eyes. What could possibly go wrong?
