As I practically carry Chris I feel bad for Frost. He didn't have to do that. We all could've gotten out. I look up at the sky and a raindrop smacks me in the face.
"Thanks alot." I say sarcastically to the sky. It starts rain hard. Like the knock you down if you're not careful rain. I try to be careful but carrying someone in knock you down rain, while trying to be careful doesn't work. "Hey Chris." He opens his eyes.
"What?" He sound so tired and I'm the one who was fighting monsters. What exactly happened to him? "I just. Can you carry some of your own weight?" I ask him. He look up. "It's raining." I roll my eyes.
"Yeah. And I can't exactly carry you in this." I don't mean to sound like a bad person but it comes out that way. Chris looks at me hurt. "I'm sorry. I just don't want to fall and hurt you even more."
He smiles weakly at me. "I can try." He puts his weight on his feet and starts walking with me. Zodiac who had fallen asleep on my shoulder now is trying to crawl into the hood of my hoodie.
He manages to get in my hood and I guess he falls asleep again. Chris looks at me. "You know earlier when I was trying to talk to you and you basically told me to shut up?" I grimace but nod. "Well. I saw the color of your eyes."
"I don't know anything about that." I immediately put my walls back up. "They're not horrible. I like them." I stare at him. "You like them?!" He nods and I run a hand through my hair. "This is complicated." I say.
"You don't have to explain why they're that color. I just like it." Says Chris. I half smile at him. "Good. Because I have no clue how to explain it. He moves my bangs off to the side and I feel embarrassed.
"Yeah. I really like your eyes." He smiles and I feel even more embarrassed. "Okay stop. Please?" I ask him. He just shrugs. "You should show your eyes more often." "Not everyone would like them." I mumble.
"So what? Who cares what everyone else says? You hide from everyone anyways." I know he's telling the truth but I still don't like it. "Just because I hide in the back corner doesn't give you a right to judge me."
I complain. He shrugs. "Fine." I think I made him mad. "I'm sorry." He smiles at me. "There's nothing wrong with defending yourself." I smile and trip falling onto my face.
"I would've thought I could walk properly by now!" I complain. Chris starts laughing and helps me up. "Are you okay?" I brush myself off which doesn't help because my hoodie is officially soaked now. "I'm fine."
He smiles at me. "That was kind of funny." I glare at him. "Okay. Point taken." I realize my bangs are still swept off to the side. "Stupid hair!" I shake my head and my bangs move back to how I like them.
"Alex you realize it's harder to understand how you feel with your hair covering half of you face." I understand that. I just don't really care. He reaches over and tries to move my bangs again.
I grab his wrist. "Please leave my hair alone." I tell him. He tries to do the same thing with the other hand and I grab that one too. "Please stop." He just smiles and moves closer to me.  "I don't care what you say. I like it when I can see your eyes." "Not happening." He shrugs and backs away. I let go of his wrists and he give me a sly smile.
"I'll get you to show off your eyes."
