This morning I woke up due to the noise outside the house, as I sat down a chicken fly pass the window.

What's happening? I look down to see if Kai was still sleeping, but no sight of him.
Where could he be?

I put on my clothes and went outside.

"Goodmorning nice lady!

The little girl greeted me at the door.

"Chai"

Surprised to myself. Did I just sounded happy? Instead of being annoyed from the noises early in the morning I suddenly became happy seeing this little girl again.

I don't know why. Maybe she remind me of myself when I was her age. She's probably 7 or so.

"Did you sleep well?"

She said leading me to the back of the house. Looking around, I can see that the village people are very busy. Do they always like this here? It's kinda new to me.

Because in Kaifan Village nobody was outside of their house early this morning. The rebel mens are still roaming until the full sun. So for the people's safety, they'd stay in their homes until full sun.

"Yeah"

I put on my usual tone, as we reach the backyard I can see old granny is feeding the ducks. Kai on the other hand was just brushing his horse. He didn't even help his grandma.

Chai was jumping and yelling which makes the two look at us.

"Ah, finally awake"

Old granny said at smile at me. I help her carry the basket where the ducks food was stored.

"You should let Kai do this old– I mean granny, he's not being useful now"

"Hush now, our dear Kai isn't a thing for anybody to say his useful. Kai is a very generous, courageous, brave, lovable person, his nice too"

Eh, hearing compliments makes me cringe. Even though granny wasn't complimenting me.

"He help every people here on our village, ones he promise, he never fails that person. That included me. He have done many works which makes me very proud."

I don't know what got into me, but I found myself listening to Granny. Like I was interested in this boy's generosity life.

"Both him and Chai lost their parents 8 years ago, I took them in my home, feed them, gave them shelter. And it doesn't bother me in any ways. Even though I'm not their real grandmother."

Oh, so we both lost our parents at a very young age.

"Do you know why it doesn't bother me?"

I just keep on listening while she also feed the ducks.

"Kai works hard to pay me from the dept he own from me. And that payment wasn't money. It's care and love."

I notice the smile that grimace on her face. The older she get, gladly their is someone who was there to take care of her.

I look at Kai's direction when I saw him walking towards us.

"What are you two talking about?"

"None of your business"

He just smirk at my remarks as I roll my eyes at him. From all the things Granny told me, I should be impressed but this dude's face annoys me.

"I only request for one night to stay, I'll be leaving now"

"Where would you might be heading dear?"

Putting down the basket full of duck's food I face Granny.

"I'm travelling to Jen Chi"

"Woah! That's awesome! I'm also going to that Kingdom too"

Kai cut off. Beaming like a child.

"Oh yeah? What a coincidence"

I fake smile, knowing that only his lying and trying to make a joke.

"You bet, we could go there together"

"But you said you'll leave tomorrow"

Granny says to him. Wait, so it's true? He was actually travelling to Jen Chi?

"Yeah, but its boring to leave alone, Akina and I should leave together"

Hell no

"But Reko is coming with you"

Kai stop for a minute, like he was thinking of something.

"Yeah, but he's annoying"

"You're annoying too"

I said crossing my arms at my chest.

"I'm not annoying"

He defended himself like a child.

"You are!"

I don't know why am I fighting with this dude, but it sure do boiled my blood.

"Stop it you too"

Granny walk between us.

"Sure you can leave now Kai, but don't forget to tell your sister. And no one is leaving not until you both took your meals"

The both of us agreed.

We took our meals, and later on. He bid our farewell to Granny and Chai.

"Don't be a bad girl too Nay Nay Chai! And I'll be back soon!"

Kai screams, and wave them goodbye. Passing the village I remember my main goal. I cannot waste more time now. I need to get to Jen Chi as soon as possible and find out what is this necklace.

"Kai!"

Someone scream and that made me look at to where was the shout came from.

Another boy riding his horse pop out of nowhere in Kai's side.

"Reko, glad you made it"

To my surprised the boy may I presume his name was Reko just smack Kai's head.

"You idiot, why would you leave me behind?"

"How did you know, I'll leave today?"

"Your Nay Nay told me"

This gonna be long trip.

I groan.
