"We are gathered here tonight to honor the best of the best here in France. Although some have come to great lengths to be here tonight, sometimes the best is hidden right here in Paris. We are honored to be able to present this award tonight and nonetheless, we are stoked to be able to call....this is boring and so cliche!"

Fiona loudly groaned as she threw her cue cards in the air in defeat. Adrien laughed, throwing him up as well and falling back onto his bed.

"I can't believe we are being forced against our will to be this proper. It's truly disgusting."

Fiona added on, as she fell back next to Adrien on his bed. The two exchanged a humorous laugh as they turned to face one another. Adrien stared longingly into her dark brown eyes, getting lost in the speckles of light that reflected off. Fiona felt her face instantly heat up as she stared back into his glimmering emerald green eyes.

"Fi? I-"

There was a knock on the door, causing both Adrien and Fiona to back away from one another.

"Come in, Felix."

Felix opened the door, holding a brown rectangle tray of salads and juices. He was clearly annoyed that he was demoted to a servant for a moment.

"That is the only and last time I will ever do any favors for you two. Clearly, we have people to bring our shit up."

He angrily sat the tray down on a nearby end table.

"Language, Felix. Come on."

Fiona pouted as she shifted her body towards him and ruffled his hair with his hand. He batted her hands away, leaving a grin on Fiona's face and earning a chuckle from Adrien.

"Did I mention how much I despise you?"

Fiona stuck her tongue out at Felix, who just mumbled something underneath his breath. The trio ate their lunches together as they watched a movie on Adrien's flatscreen tv in his room. Once they were done, Fiona and Adrien cleaned up their plates and headed back downstairs to put them in the sinks.

"Hey Fi? Can I talk to you for a sec?"

Fiona nodded as she placed her empty plates into the sink, waving Gabriel's staff and smiling at them. She followed Adrien back into the corridor but stopped her before they entered his room once again.

"How have you been doing?"

Adrien's face saddened as he reached over to hold Fiona's hands. Just as soft as I remember, he thought to himself. Fiona looked down at their hands and felt her cheeks blush a faint pink as she muttered to get words out. It's the effect Adrien always seemed to have on her, it made her feel mushy on the inside.

"I-I'm doing better nowadays thank you. I haven't had the nightmare in a while. So I sleep better."

Adrien began to rub his thumb in circular motions on top of her hand, reassuring her that it was okay. Fiona felt calm and mesmerized by the motion, forming a smile on her lips as she looked up into his emerald green eyes.

"I'm glad your feeling much better. I'm sorry I haven't been able to check in on you. Things have been...hectic."

Adrien's shoulder immediately tensed up, anxiousness began to boil up at the thought. Fiona sensed this and cupped his face with the palm of her hand, giving him a genuine smile.

"Thank you, Fi."

Adrien could feel all himself relaxing by her soft touch. The pair remained like that for a while before Fiona wrapped her arms around his neck, pulling him into a hug.

"Thank you for being so patient with me. I don't know how I would've been able to get through anything without you."

Fiona softly whispered as she dug her head into his chest. Little did they know, Felix was overhearing every word on the other side of the door. He pressed his ear against the cold door and continued to listen until he heard silence. He didn't quite understand whether or not it was wrong to eavesdrop but he couldn't help himself. He wanted to know the truth and Felix would never apologize for being kept out of the dark.

"By the way, I know the Gala is tomorrow. So I wanted to let you know, I'll be right by your side the entire time. I promise you that Fi."

Adrien looked down at the dark brown-haired girl standing below him in his arms. Fiona was relatively only a few inches shorter than Adrien, she barely reached his chin.

"I know, I'll be okay Adrien. I have you, Marinette, and Chole to look out for at the Gala. Even Felix."

Felix immediately froze upon hearing his name. Adrien and Fiona opened the door, causing Felix to back away from the door and wave back. Fiona raised an eyebrow and folded her hands together, looking back at Felix.

"Felix."

"Fiona."

The two stared off Felix remaining unfazed as Fiona approached him, pulling him into a hug.

"You'll be there for me, right?"

Her soft-spoken voice sent shivers into Felix's spine as she leaned on him. All Felix could do was shrug and nod, leaving a grin on her face.

"Thank you."

*the next day*

"I can't believe this is actually happening today. I'm so excited!"

Chole bubbled as she skipped to the other side of the room holding a yellow mermaid style dress, that was covered in glitter that could probably illuminate the Eiffel Tower if the sun hit it just right. The girls had just received their dresses for the evening and were eyeballing all of the options they were to chose from.

Of course, Fiona had her own separate line of options to chose from as Gabriel designed hers for this special occasion. Fiona sat down on a red velvet spinning chair, eying all the makeup pallets and hair accessories in front of her in the vanity.

"Fiona? Are you okay?"

Marinette kneeled down next to Fiona as she spun her chair away from the vanity. Fiona was brought back into reality as she felt a delicate hand brush her shoulder.

"I just... I don't know if I could do this."

Marinette gave her a tight squeeze and spun her back towards the vanity. The girls saw their reflections in the mirror and Marinette held a gold butterfly brochette next to Fiona's hair.

"Fiona, you'll do great out there! You've done this a million times before, this event should be no different than the rest! Plus this brochette would look amazing with that satin dress!"

Fiona looked down at the butterfly brochette that was placed in her hand.

She's right. You can do this.
