"What?"

Adrien stared at him, stunned.

Felix's chest fell from all the tension fading from his body.

"Are you serious?"

Adrien's voice lowered.

"I don't know."

Felix quietly whispered beneath his shaking breath. Both of them sat there in silence, feeling the car make its final turn before approaching the main entrance of the event.

"You can't have feelings for her."

Adrien softly spoke, turning his head away from Felix and running his hand through his hair.

"And why is that?"

Felix responded, looking down at his red-irritated palms.

"Because I'm still in love with her."

~~later that evening~

Fiona sat in front of her vanity, brushing her hair with a floral paddle brush her mother had given her when she was younger. Her mind was filled with daydreaming thoughts about what happened earlier that day.

About who she saw in the crowd.
Whether it was Felix or Adrien.

Fiona couldn't understand why it was hard for her to admit that they both make her feel that way. She felt a sudden wave of anxiety fall over her, leaving a feeling of unrest in her stomach and her hands beginning to tremble.

Felix called me beautiful.

That had to be intentional, she thought. Felix has never willingly complimented Fiona unless he was forced too. Adrien had always complimented Fiona, he always made it a point to tell her how he always felt about her, his girlfriend, well ex-girlfriend now.

But with Felix it was new and it was different. A good different. Felix wasn't the type to just compliment someone out of pure goodness, he was always cold and preferred to make a snarky remark about appearance to avoid awkwardness. But earlier that evening, Fiona didn't feel any of that. With the way, Felix said it, his voice lowered in a soft spoken demeanor. She felt genuineness from Felix as if he not only wanted to tell her she was beautiful but also wanted to prove to her that she was by allowing himself to be vulnerable.

Does Felix feel something for me?

The thought infiltrated the back of her mind as Fiona buried her head onto her hands. Her hair, now frizzy and poofed out from the excessive brushing, covering her face as she rubbed her temples with her fingers. Her head foggy from all the earlier events that happened and the lack of sleep she got the night before wasn't helping. If it was up to Fiona, she would've much preferred to stay in the night rather than go to a party across town.

"Fiona?"

A quaint voice could be heard from the other side of her bedroom door, prompting her to push herself off her vanity chair and open the door.

"Fiona, your dinner is ready downstairs."

Sierra spoke, looking at Fiona with a concerned look on her face. Fiona forced a smile, nodding as she followed Sierra down the hall into the dining room.
