"Your Majesty, many of your people are getting killed because of this."
"Does it look like this is something I'm concerned about?" Isabella hissed.
The guard kneeling before her held his breath.
"Your Majesty, please understand things from the people's perspective. You should address them."
Isabella raised an eyebrow. "They need to understand who's in charge now. The protests aren't going to help them, so a little resistance from our end should get the message across."
"They don't know you, they don't know how you're going to help them, King George would have-" The guard's eyes widened knowing he just decided his fate.
Isabella sat up on her throne, leaning down to the guard. "What did you just say?"
The guard remained silent. There was no point in trying.
"Not going to talk, huh? You were pretty talkative just a second ago. Cat got your tongue?" Isabella smiled.
The guard lowered his head.
Isabella looked to her two guards on each side of her, laughing.
"Well, if you're done, I suppose you can be excused."
The guard perked up. "Am I not in trouble?"
"You made a simple mistake, so I feel no need to punish you. Besides, I know you won't do it again."
"Thank you, your Majesty, thank you so much!" The guard stood up quickly, holding his helmet underneath his arm as he walked off.
Isabella turned to one of the guards next to her. "You know what to do."
The guard nodded, pulling an arrow from his quiver and loading his bow.
Isabella watched as the arrow pierced through the guard's head from a distance. She smiled as the guard's body slammed against the marble floor. His helmet crashed against the floor, bouncing into the wall before settling on the floor with a spin.
"Order must be made, I can no longer tolerate such ignorance. Now please, take care of him."
