"I hope you realize that they're going to die." Foolish smiled as he crossed his arms.
"It doesn't matter! This place is covered with dead bushes, it's nice to have some life." Hannah remained focused on the placement of the roses.
"Well, don't say I didn't tell you so."
Hannah rolled her eyes. "You'll appreciate them at some point."
She stood up, giving Foolish a smug look.
The two began walking back to Foolish's home when Hannah groaned loudly.
She was trying to pick up her dress. It was a dusty rose maxi dress, which complimented her complexion.
"That's what you get for wearing such a long dress." Foolish teased.
"Oh, please." Hannah laughed.
Foolish sighed as they arrived back at the house. "You have to leave, right?"
"Yeah," Hannah said as she dumped sand out of her shoe. "I have to practice my 'etiquette' for the wedding in a few days."
"Are you sure you're ready for all this? You've only known him for a few months."
"Foolish, I'm honored to have been chosen out of all the women at that ball."
"I know, but I can't help but be worried is all, as a friend."
"Quit worrying! He's just a normal soon-to-be King, and I really like him."
As much as Foolish didn't approve her fiancé, he made Hannah happy, and that's all that mattered.
"Anyways, I do need to get going, but I'll try to come by soon!"
Foolish watched as Hannah headed off to the portal, being left with a bad pain in his stomach.
Hannah's smile had faded almost immediately upon entering the portal.
Why am I doing this?
