It was early in the morning, and Sylvia was wide awake. Instead of wandering around the temple, she walked around outside.

It was refreshing to be out at night, especially since it was cooler.

Torches lit up the darkness, emitting a comfortable glow.

Sylvia stepped down the last flight of stairs, standing in the large opening in front of the main house.

She breathed deeply, enjoying every second of the cool air.

"How come you're out here?" Sylvia said as she exhaled.

The footsteps she had been hearing behind her, stopped suddenly.

Sylvia looked over her shoulder, seeing Dream's startled expression.

"Nothing ever gets past you," Dream chuckles. "I wouldn't expect anything less.

Sylvia smiled. "Common knowledge to have from where we're from. Now, why are you out here?"

Dream sat down on the stairs, looking up to the sky to think.

"It's calm out here. Probably the calmest I've environment I've been in years."

"That's all?" Sylvia asked.

Dream laughs. "Well, I've been coming out here late at night to do my thinking. All I can think about is what will happen back at home, or what the future will become, you know?"

Sylvia nodded, walking over to Dream and sitting next to him. "I know what you mean."

The two sighed at the same time, staring straight ahead.

"I'm sure you can't get him off your mind, right?" Dream asked after a pause.

Sylvia nodded. "He's my other half, and we've never had to be separated before. All this has been really tough on him, and so much of it is my own damn fault."

She hugged herself, her nails digging into her light skin.

"You can't keep blaming yourself for everything. Like you've said before, you're just trying to protect him."

Sylvia smiled. "Since when have you becoming so caring."

"I'm being serious, Sylvia."

Sylvia rested her elbow on her knee, holding up her head as she turned back to Dream.

"I know, it's just hard to take you seriously like this sometimes."

Dream scoffed, pretending to be offended. "This is why I'm never nice to you, 'cus you just make fun of me."
