Chapter 24

As Evelyn got off the elevator she saw the team all in the kitchen grabbing pizza around the island. She found Wanda sitting in a chair with Vision behind her rubbing her back. She looked so sad.

Wanda looked up and saw Evelyn walking to the room and jumped out of her seat and stood by the island, "Evelyn, I'm so sorry. I -" she started.

Evelyn took her into a big hug, "Hush, you have nothing to apologize for. You helped me unlock a part of myself today. I was the one who pushed myself harder than I should've. I was already tired from sparring this morning and should have realized my limitations."

Wanda hugged her back. "You did amazing today. I am so glad you're okay."

"I'm so glad I have such a wonderful trainer," Evelyn said, releasing her from the hug but holding her at arms length to look at her in the eyes, "now no more sadness. Enjoy your first night home."

As Wanda nodded; Vision came up and wrapped his arm around Wanda and looked down at Evelyn and smiled. "You are truly as wonderful as everyone says you are."

Evelyn blushed at his praise and before she could say anything she was engulfed in a hug by Natasha. "Don't ever do that again," she said into Evelyn's ear.

"It's not like I did it on purpose," Evelyn laughed but saw the seriousness in Natasha's eyes. "I'm sorry I scared you and crushed you when I fainted on you."

"We are increasing your calorie intake so that doesn't happen again and please - you're light as a feather. I could've carried you myself but Barnes picked you up before any of us had a chance," Natasha said, sneaking her a quick wink.

"I'm always up for more food," Evelyn said smiling and Natasha let her go to sit next to Bruce who had pulled out her chair for her. When Natasha looked up at Evelyn she blushed when Evelyn shot her a wink.

She looked around and saw that Steve and Bucky had gone to sit on the couch and Steve waved her in. She walked over and was surprised when Bucky grabbed her hand and gently pulled her next to him. She laughed as she plopped down on the couch.

"How are you feeling Doll?" Bucky asked, looking her over.

"Good, still a little tired but I'm hoping pizza will help that," she said, stealing a piece of his pizza.

"Watch out Evelyn - he is liable to bite you for taking his food," Steve laughed.

Evelyn looked over at Bucky while taking a bite of the pizza. "Nah, he shares his ice cream with me."

"You share ice cream?!" Steve asked, taking a drink of his beer.

Bucky shrugged and took a drink looking at Evelyn who had a mischievous grin.

"Maybe he just likes me more than you," Evelyn said, winking at him, making Bucky choke on his beer. "Okay, Bucky - it wasn't that funny of an idea." She said slapping his arm.

Steve raised his eyebrow at Bucky and gave him a half smile but took another drink when Bucky's eyes narrowed at him. Evelyn looked between the two men and shook her head and got up and took a slice of Steve's pizza.

"Hey! I was planning on eating that," Steve said laughing at her as she plopped back down and shrugged.

"Nat says I have to increase my calorie intake - Right Nat?!" Evelyn yelled at Natasha while finishing the slice.

"Whatever she said I agree," Natasha said from the island, making Evelyn laugh.

"That's a true friend right there," she laughed as she got up.

"Where you going?" Bucky asked looking up at her.

"Don't worry Sarge I'll be right back - I'm getting my own pizza and something to drink. I don't want to upset you guys," she laughed
