It was now morning, and the sky was filled with shades of red and orange. It was the day the quest was to begin.
My friends and I met at our usual table in the Meal Hall. The workers came to bring us breakfast, and we talked about what had happened the night before.
"You guys won't believe what happened last night!" Travis exclaimed.
"What?" Mark asked.
"I got claimed!"
"Really?" That was Ivy, still yawning even though we'd been awake for a while. "By who?"
"Saffron!"
"Nice!"
"And, I get to go on the quest!"
"Ah, I went on a quest once..." Ivy was wandering off into her thoughts.
"You have?" I asked.
"No..." Ivy said.
Ivy was very tired, she wasn't thinking straight. Sometimes I wonder how that kid makes it through a normal day... Even if she is my half-sister.
"Oooookay then..." I mumbled.
"Alright campers!" Siv yelled into the Meal Hall. "It's time to say goodbye to our quest participants! Isabelle Lunette, Latona Amurdad, Mark Hippolyte, and Travis Thoth!"
My friends and I walked to the back to Meal Hall, where Siv was.
"Ship off the newbies!" a kid yelled. I recognized his voice. It was the same kid that wanted us to go on this quest in the first place.
"Well, you four haven't been here long, and you might just never come back, but I'd like to say congratulations on surviving this long! Good luck out there!" Siv cheered as she shoved us to the camp exit.
"Where do we go?" I asked. The prophecy said nothing about a location. Siv threw plane tickets at us.
"Follow the east wind to somewhere cold!" she yelled as camp workers pulled us into a car.
"Latona, why can't we walk?" I asked, already feeling my motion sickness. No response. Not from any of my friends. Then I actually looked at them. They looked as miserable as me! I didn't want to be in a car. The last time I was driven anywhere, Sandy was driving.
I decided not to talk, or even look at anyone. I just closed my eyes and hoped for this living nightmare to be over.
We drove for hours, just to get to an airport. Then onto another moving vehicle, but this time, it was in the air. The airport was small, with very little people. I could only see around five planes on the ground, and one in the air. The lady at the front desk checked our tickets.
"Any luggage?" she asked.
"No," I sighed, still a bit dizzy from the car ride. Latona was leaning on my shoulder because she could barely stand. Mark and Travis were also holding each other up.
"You kids okay?" the lady asked.
"They're fine," one of the camp workers said, clearly he didn't want to be here.
"Are you sure? They look a bit, drunk..." she asked.
"I'm fine..." Mark said. "Just a bit of motion sickness from the car ride..."
"I see. Well, you board your plane through Gate C. Have fun!"
"Thanks..." Mark said and Travis fell off his shoulder, and right onto me.
"Travis!" I screeched. The weight of two people pressing on me was too much for my body to handle. I grabbed their hands and propped them up.
"You walk or I drag you," I told them.
And they walked behind me all the way onto the plane.
